Tootoo turns down 3-year deal.

http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2012/6...oo-free-agency

Will hit the FA market on 7/1.

Guess he was really pissed at his lack of ice time in playoffs?

He obviously wants to test the market and look for a bigger deal. Will be weird to see him in another uniform. I have always said he's beyond overrated (great series vs Ducks last year though).

Heard Brent Peterson on the Wake Up Zone this morning. He said it felt similar to Ward last year.. They offered Ward-O something like 2 mil/year....he ended up getting 3 or whatever and scoring like 5 goals.

Will always like the guy but his time in Nashville is done. Yip fills his role for much cheaper.

Adios Toots.

Thanks for the memories and best of luck Toots.

It's time to move on. We have better people than him on our roster, and it's just time for both sides to go different ways.

I like him as a player. When he is in the 4th line energy role. It was when he tried to be that top 6 forward that frustrated me with him. his game is get pucks deep, seperate man from puck grind. When he deviated from that he stunk. Will miss his energy in the building. Hope he lands on his feet.

Obviously the team is doing pre-emptive damage control PR.... let everyone know it was Toots decision to leave not the teams...

I agree its much like Ward... whoever signs him is going to be sorely disappointed, I believe.

But like everyoneelse, i do wish him well, and its gonna be truly weird seeing him in the Bridge in another uni...

guess i better go ahead and find a new avatar...

I think Hamhuis did get one... He wasn't on the ice and they showed him sitting in the stands.... I think!

I don't really like the tribute videos, personally.

Man this is a sad day. Really enjoyed his hustle and hard work digging pucks out of the corners. Yes his antics on the ice left me scratching my head, but it brought excitement to the game, even if it's for the wrong reasons lol.

Good luck Toots, don't worry, I'm keeping my name for now.

I'm guessing he wants to go to a team where he can play everyday.

I think so. tootoo is the name casual fans know. They are slowly coming around to Weber, Rinne, and Fisher, but tootoo is the guy joe scmoe off the street knows about. The guy is a rock star around here.

I have been critical of his on ice play, but I will miss the energy he brings not only to the ice, but when he was on, the energy of the crowd was up. That is something you really can't measure.

Of all the guys who left, thus far, he is the most deserving of a little nostalgic video. Let me rethink that, Vokoun was deserving too.

The whistles are certainly more bearable than the air-horns we get in some OHL games. Add alcohol to the mix and it feels like you're in a traffic jam for 2 hours.

Well I never thought this day would come, but we as a franchise are growing up and can't keep a crowd fave around just because he's a fave. Good luck Toot's!

Oh and the curse of the radio show lives on. Wonder who gets to host one next year?

How many people here will try to get Trotz to host in the hopes the curse continues?
