Couldn't agree more. Tender and Marty Havlat were special together. They grew beards cause they weren't toying around and they shocked the world.

On a side note why all the hate for GUI ? It's as if he chumped some of you at a bar or something. The guy was leading the Habs most of his time here in points per time on ice. Girls like his smile

If Bourque could be moved for a pick or a veteran D, we could replace his production for half the cost by signing Gui.

And if we can't, send him down the minors. Habs should do this for Gomez, Bourque and Kaberle. No more dead weight.

My Realistic wish list:
1. Ott/Gaustad (big C with FO)
2. A solid yet physical D
3. Latendresse (big body up front)

Steve Staios would be a good choice. He's from Hamilton.

BTW would you guys prefer hiring Latendresse or Penner? The availablity of Lats is screwing up my GM plan.

I doubt Lats will be available on July 1st. Also, I wouldn't sign Penner even if he had a good playoffs run. His play in the regular season is rather disappointing. We don't need another Bourque.

Penner's a very good two-way player and durig the season he was a guy I wanted the Habs to sign as an UFA. His playoffs and being on a cup-winning team probably brought his value back up to normal rather than probably undervalued.

If you're looking for a guy to play on the 3rd-line with Bourque on the other side I'd go with Latendresse since the salary and length of contract would be smaller. Someone to take on tougher top-6 minutes and it's Penner.

1. Allen
2. Semins
3. Lats
4. O'Brien
5. Prust

Here is my realistic top-5, realistic as i left Parise and Suter our of it. We could actualy get them five and i'd be happy.

"Interesting" guys who didn't get qualifying offers:

M-A Gragnani, Blake Comeau, Nick Johnson, Eric Fehr, Cam Barker, Guillaume Latendresse, Gilbert Brule, Boris Valabik.

Is it me or are memories shorter than Edmonton summers?

Just before getting traded lats was screamed at in practice because he wouldn't go to the dirty areas - Even in practice!!!

He also skipped out on a week long power skating session with Lapierre (somewhere north of ottawa- Arnprior?)
They showed up day one and were never seen from again!

And we want this guy back?

so yes. my negativity was duly noted as emphatically as possible

as for Pat I'd like him to answer the original question: if the name on the back was Landers instead of Latendresse would he still want the Big Mac poster boy?

I'm not a good enough writer to convey how terrible Barker is.

Latendresse would be a nice pick-up for the 3rd-line if the team wants to give Leblanc another partial or full season in Hamilton. Eric Fehr also wouldn't be a bad gamble as a 4th-line LW.

Send a message via MSN to WeThreeKings
Fehr or Latendresse would be great for depth scoring.
