JT is the best player drafted number 1 overall since Crosby, and he will stay there until Ekblad. I love Mak, but the kid is more in the same mold has RNH/Hall... He's gonna be a 80ish guy for sure. Tavares has Art Ross potential.
There are times when MacKinnon just decides to score a goal and no one can stop him. In the 1st game of the Play-offs. The Moose were down 1-0 and looking incredibly sluggish. MacKinnon took the puck on the boards on the power play, power and finessed his way to the net and scored a beautiful goal.

Hopefully we keep our picks, but with our 1st and 3 2nds our prospect pool will get even deeper.

Don't we have Calgary and Nashvilles 2nds? Nashville without Suter could easily miss the playoffs. Calgary might try and rebuild and move Iginla, that 2nd could be very close to a 1st.
If we make the playoffs we could have some nice pieces to move into the top 10 picks.
Edit: Also say Eller and Galchenyuk look primed to fill our top 6 centre positions, we could move Plekanec for a very high pick.
Bergevin is going to have some very nice options next year if he is smart.

Absolutely, we are in a fantastic position entering this talent bonanza, especially if we dangle one of our centers to add more ammo, which is a very possible scenario. We could maybe even do something like Buffalo did this year and walk away with 2 top 15 talents if we play our cards right. Making the playoffs and somehow come out of the draft with something like Lindholm or Lazar+Drouin would be ****ing unreal.
The NSH and CGY picks could very well be in the 40-47 range with how good the West is. Losing Suter is a huge blow to the Preds if it happens and CGY is going nowhere in that conference.
The fact we were adding 2nd rounders from this draft months ago leads me to believe Timmins is in love with this class.

Dream on, losing their best defender/minute cruncher is going to hit hard because their whole game is based around him and his style of play. Not only losing him but getting NOTHING for him. I wouldn't be suprised if they missed the playoffs easily.

People hate on Gauthier but the guy has set Bergevin up for success. He stocked up on picks and solidified the team with a couple decent acquisitions.
We got Thrower with Nashvilles pick and we have needed a player like him for ages.

Nashville works because of three player, Suter, Weber and Rinne.
Put anybody on the left of Weber and its not the same. I don't think no one else can give 25 + QUALITY minutes like suter did.. Maybe Subban
It's also possible that if Suter leaves, Weber says no to a long-term deal and they move him to avoid losing him for nothing, further weakening their team for next year.
If we land Sean Monahan next year, I see us being SET at centre for the next 10+ years.

We arrange for a lockout to happen, which will wipe out the first 40 games of the year and ensure that Galchenyuk, Beaulieu, Tinordi and company all play most, if not the whole year in the AHL. Then, just as the abbreviated season is about to start, we dislocate Carey Price's shoulder. Nothing that will be affect his career long-term, but say something that needs a good six weeks recovery, meaning that of the 42 games that will be played he'll miss a good 20 of them. Since we'll be Brujdal coming out of the gate we'll be far enough behind that Bergevin will make the gutsy decision to trade Plekanec and Markov for 1st round picks. Markov will go to somebody in the back of the first round, but a mid-tier team will take a chance on Plekanec. Let's for fun say Phoenix, because I hate them. Unfortunately for them he gets hurt in his 2nd game and they go on a 10 game losing streak, dropping them down into the top 10, draft-wise. We then win the lottery and pick, oh, 2nd overall.
So we'll have the 2nd overall, 10th overall, 25th overall, and three second rounders. Get Seth Jones, Jonathan Drouin, Jordan Subban and Bergeron-clone, Weber-clone, and Eriksson-clone in the 2nd rounder (notice the 2003 reference?)
