Excited about seeing the prospects. I'll be out of town for the next 5 days but I'll definitely be checking out the tail end of development camp when I get back.

No problem. Was interesting hearing Stu commenting on the size of the prospects families this year. Reminded me of Hesketh. He was one of the first players I remember hearing Stu say this about after the draft. His father and brother were both 6'6".

Going to UNB if doesn't get signed.

Quote:
“It’s an exciting moment for our program to welcome back one of our originals from our V-Red Prospects youth development program and to see how well he has developed and matured as a player and leader during his career in the QMJHL,” UNB coach Gardiner MacDougall said in a news release. “He is a key addition to our line-up as he has proven he can play well with good players and in a number of important roles and in key situations.

“He has proven himself as an accomplished leader, plays gritty and hard on pucks and has shown continuous improvement because of his work ethic and attitude. He is an excellent fit here at UNB and we expect him to be a special player to make a significant difference in our program.”

Confusing picture. Yak is supposed to be sth like 5'10-11" and Gustafson is supposedly 6'0" so Zharkov should be considerably taller, no? I thought he was listed at 6'3"?

He does look considerably taller... Plus Gustafsson is wearing a hat and Yak has styled up hair.

Oilers have revised their tweet and now say it's Wade Epp not Gustafsson. I'll edit my post.

There we go! Yak doesn't really look all that small standing beside a 6'3" guy and a 6'5" dude, does he? I mean, I know he's closest to the camera so perspective is helping him out, but I'm still encouraged by his relative size.

I'll likely be going on thursday and friday just because. It's actually a lot of fun hanging out at these things and just watching mostly because it helped curb the withdrawal of no-hockey in the summer.

Very cool! I can't wait to get some reports.

I'm really interested to see how Perhonen plays, especially against guys like Yakupov. It sounds like he had a bad year last year. I'm a bit worried about the lack of really good goalie prospects, outside of Tyler Bunz.

Damn, I wish I could go!

I'm excited about Tuohiima who had a pretty good season who got force fed more starts due to injury, and he looked pretty solid at last years development camp.

Hope we get some good coverage of this camp this year.

Might be the last time we get to see Yakupov until early/mid winter, hope I'm wrong though!

Pitlick is a mystery. I'm sure we'll find out why he's not here.

Pitlick played a full AHL season and was part of the Barons' team that made it to Western Conference Finals.

He doesn't need to go to development camp.

Still wouldn't explain the mystery to everyone regarding Hamilton

I saw Brandon Davidson at the airport today. It wasn't eventful. He had a Pats hockey bag...it was nice, I suppose.

Apparently 4 or 5 prospects arrived at the same time but he's the only one I saw. I was the only one of the group that would have been able to recognize any of them so I can't tell you who else was there.

Well, he was injured a lot of the year and missed all of the playoffs. I'd certainly say Hamilton needs the help more than Pitlick.

All 34 #Oilers prospects arrive for pre-camp orientation with Billy Moores.

Looks like everyone remembered their passport this year

2012 Development Camp

If anybody who's attending the on-ice sessions at Millenium Place could post their observations it would be appreciated for those of us who can't attend. Thanks.

Aren't you on here just about every day?

As for this camp real curious to see Klefbom. Been getting great reviews as of late.
