I want Habs to replace Darche with Mike Knuble .

Habs should sign Mike Knuble 1 year deal cheap , very smart move.

Achieving what? Darche can probably be signed on a 2 way and start coaching kids in Hamilton. Same way Bouchard did a couple years ago with the D. Don't know what you want Knuble to do. Wait for the playoffs?

You need to give Knuble WAY more respect than that .There is a reason he's played over 1000 games.
Even if Darche is willing to take a 3 way contract, Knuble is way better NO DEBATE /

Send a message via MSN to Rise from the Ashes
1. Parenteau (discount on him due to Bergevin's persuasiveness and schpiel about how the Habs need French players who know what it is to be a Canadien)

three years at 4 million a season

2. Sheldon Souray (You can bet your ass that Bergevin will call this guy. He is tough, experienced, a former Hab and knows what it takes to win in Montreal)

3. Francis Bouillon (Again, Francophone, experienced, knows how to win in Montreal, knows Therrien)

4. Steve Bernier (Not the best player in the world, but he might get offered something if the Habs think he is an upgrade on Darche)

5. Michal Roszival (Decent defender, has size and experience and won't get the attention Bryan Allen and Suter will get)

Not Bouillon, I thought we liked him but we were ready to let him go because we wanted an upgrade?

worst 4th line in NHL ,was AHL 4th line !

Habs need to sign Knuble for 3rd /4th line and POWER PLAY.

He got 80 career power play goals, and near as many power play asst....Make's sense to play him over Darche on PP...

It makes sense to play a lot more players before Knuble, he had 18 points in 72GP last season, he's 40 years old. I'm pretty sure he's gonna retire this summer.

HEY?

and P.S Knuble is still goona play....

At 40 , he's way better than Darche on the power play or 3rd or 4th line , there is no contest.

Period

END your story.

No, they parted amicably. He went West to be closer to his kids as his wife has custody. I'm pretty sure he still wants to be in the West for that reason though, although I'm not up to date on Souray gossip.

When he had his blow up in Edmonton he specifically talked about how both Montreal and New Jersey were high class organizations in contrast to Edmonton.

If they want a cheap filler player for the fourth line, give Darche's 700K to Kostopoulos, veteran who's been here before, works hard, plays with an edge. The bottom 4-5 forwards on the team need to all be gritty guys. Team toughness. Moen, whoever the new 4th centre is, White, Kostopoulos, Staubitz, Geoffrion, etc.

Rosival is a decent player still that won't get attention due to age. I wouldn't say no to him as a short term fill in if the better players aren't an option.

UFA1 Plekanec Gionta
Pacioretty Desharnais Cole
Bourque Eller Moen
UFA2 White Geoffrion
Engqvist

Markov Emelin
Subban Gorges
Diaz Kaberle
Weber

Price
Budaj

UFA1 (2nd line W):
Peter Mueller (solid potential if he can rebound from injury filled last years),
Alexei Ponikarovski (not always a perfect player, but has size, even though he doesn't always use it well... would be a plan C),
PA Parenteau (sounds to me like it could be a solid fit),
Ray Whitney (short term solution)

UFA2 (4th liner):
Scott Nichol (small feisty player. Very physical. Would be a fan favorite)
Aaron Asham (his physicality would be a welcome addition to the team)
Tanner Glass (could be a decent addition for depth)

Don't play games .please

he played near 80 mins of power play time in 59 games 2010-2011 in reg season ,and in 7 playoff games 12 mins of pp time....they cut him back in 2011- 2012 to 30 mins(When they figured out Cole might be better)

Which 1 minute on PP for Darche in NHL, is too many .

I think Whitney makes us an instant division contender. Maybe not a Stanley Cup contender, but definitely good enough to win a playoff spot. Giving Plekanec a guy like him would let him focus on goal scoring instead of trying to set up people all night.

Pleks is a much more complete center than most. He's a jack of all trades. But I don't feel his playmaking is top notch enough to not have playmaking help on his line.
