Does anyone know if he was tight with Stepan or McD?
I want to find this out as well.

McKenzie on NHL Live just gave the 5 team list as.

Edmonton
Vancouver
Toronto
Rangers
Philly

Gave no indication as to who he believes is a frontrunner.

I don't think he ends up in Toronto or Philly

It'll be either Edmonton, Vancouver, or us, imo.

Bob McKenzie was on NHL Live. He doesn't know where Schultz will go. Schultz will meet with his agents at Newport Sports on Tuesday. They will go over some teams depths charts. Newport will give him input on each team. McKenzie mentioned 5 teams. The Rangers,Canucks,Oilers,Leafs and Flyers. I read the today Flyers will re-sign Carle which gives them a full complement of D.

Quote:
‪#Flyers‬ still optimistic they will re-sign Matt Carle. If they so, do not expect them to go after Justin Schultz or any other Dmen.

If he signs with us, pair him up with Erixon. Have them grow together as a unit, they'll hopefully grow into a very dominant pair.

Pair Staal with either MDZ, or if he's traded, with Girardi and pair McD with hopefully Sauer (if healthy).

McD and Sauer reunited, Staal and Girardi reunited, Schultz and Erixon will give us an unbelievable 6.

The AHL will be the next stop for Schultz and other young players in the NHL with there being a very realistic possibility there will be a lockout in September.

If he comes here, I hope he becomes better than Karlsson.

If he goes elsewhere, I hope he becomes a Canadian version of Gilroy.

Yeah, I get bitter, so what?

I know I'm bias but the Rangers look like the best option. Philly is second. I don't see him signing there though.

The Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers will be front-runners when the wooing commences Wednesday and expect the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks to make their cases, too. If Schultz really wants to play closer to home, the Canucks can offer the right fit as being part of a veteran core without the pressure of being ’the’ guy.
http://www.faceoff.com/hockey/nhlnew...677/story.html

Vancouver does not have a history of playing young players and giving them opportunities to crack the line-up. Alain Vigneault gives young players a hard time. Mason Raymond,Cody Hodgson,Chris Tanev and Zach Kassian. You can sit there and say those players deserved to be benched or sent back and forth to the AHL but the Rangers have a boatload of young players given opportunities to play by Torts and Rangers management. Torts didn't banish Kreider when he struggled against the Caps.

Edmonton doesn't have a head coach. Ryan Rishaug of TSN who is based in Edmonton

Quote:
Justin Schultz will field offers Wednesday. Oilers have no coach in place yet. Have to think hell want to know who he's playing for.
https://twitter.com/TSNRyanRishaug/s...06224513384448

Who is making out the line-up? Who is their head coach?

The stupid Vancouver writer brings up the buddy card with the Rangers. They have more than the buddy card.

The Canucks have six defencemen under contract for the coming season: Kevin Bieksa, Dan Hamhuis, Alex Edler, Keith Ballard, Andrew Alberts and Chris Tanev. Sami Salo will be an unrestricted free agent July 1 and the Canucks are expected to attempt to re-sign Salo.

Jason Garrison will be a free agent. The Canucks are expected to be one of main suitors for Garrison.

Canucks are also an older team. If it was me, I rather be around people my own age.

yea I am not too concerned. He's a bonus for me. I like the D as is and especially if Sauer can come back. We have to start thinking positive with Sauer since he's started to live his life like normal. Staal came back so I think Sauer can too

Wow, really? Del Zotto should ask for 6 then.

You also have to take into consideration that he hasn't met any teams yet.

He could very well be leaning towards the Canucks right now, but I'm fully confident that Sather and co. can put together one hell of a sales job. I look forward to his decision.

just bring Stepan and McD to visit , they are perfect examples of how this team operates.

Why sign Garrison for $5 million per when you can sign Suter for the league max?
