While other kids were cheering for Lanny, Tender Willie was cheering for Ronald.

He's great at concealing the puck.. in his chins.

He's so fat that the team's penalty minutes go down when he's on the ice as the ref can't see around him.

Well, it got a lil frustrating with him before he was shipped off, ill admit

but ill always have a soft spot for him, he was one of the few players that i WANTED to draft, we did, and he looked like the real deal for a time, i had met him a couple times, i even knew a girl who knew pierre boivin and she had told me guillaume WAS going to get signed and make the team, and a week later it happened

and u know what for a young young kid , the guy CAN score , we just needed him to become that 40 goal power forward, and it didnt happen, but now it looks like pacioretty's got that covered (thank god), i so i say if it comes cheap, sign him, stick him with eller, hope he scores 20-25 and id be very happy

i still think he has kind of a poor work ethic and doesnt take care of himself as nearly as he should, but maybe coming back home can help, i just dont know

Just tell him, Guillaume you're gonna play sheltered minutes on the third line with great two-way guys like Eller and Moen, all we want you to do is be good in your own zone and create scoring chances as you go. You will get PP time from game to game if you show promise.

We won't ask you to park your ass in front of the net because we know that's not the kind of player you were, you want to be, and you are.

That sound fat to me, unless you are built like a football player.

I mean I'm about the same height as Lats and I can't see putting on all that weight and it being all muscle.

Couple that observation with the "factoid" that the overwhelming majority of Hab fans are francophone and you get a scary insight.

Biggest problem with Latendresse was a combination of things: His sense of entitlement, his view of himself as a player, the way he was brought up and developed by the staff.

His sense of entitlement: I believe it was rumored after his training camp that he would refuse to sign and go back into the draft if they didnt sign and use him in the NHL. After they caved to this demand, he seemed to believe he had his place in the line-up without having to do any of the work.
His view of himself as a player: He wanted to be a skilled guy and ignored the fact he had a big body that he needed to use to not only punish players (the dingman hit ruined his mean streak), but also to power to the net or screen the goalie.
The way he was brought up and developed: He shouldve been sent down to the AHL after his rookie season to further develop his game. They didnt do that and kept sticking him on the bottom lines. He never got to develop his offensive touch this way.

Agree...only Joe Thorton gets to be big, and play a perimeter game. Those times when Lats did throw his weight around and played with some jam, he was effective even if he wasn't scoring.

I also agree that the Habs did a horrible job developing him...but then again he is just one of many.

Good ole Fatendresse. Dude couldn't skate blueline from blueline with the puck to save his life when he was here. Then he scores 30.

You forgot MAB, Picard, Bégin, Tanguay, Darche and even Desharnais, who people want to trade away here on HFBoards. Luckily, HFBoards don't represent the majority of Habs fans.
