Peter Mueller to Pittsburgh

Was he given a qualifying offer? If not how much would he sign for in Pittsburgh. He'll replace TK.

I meant we can offer Mueller 1.5 per year, and then we trade TK. We save 500k, and a better player.

I suggest a universal Mueller thread to avoid the inevitable 29 threads about his value to ones team, when people hear that he didn't get a QO.

This maybe in Mid-Late July after the big names have been placed and we lost the Parise-Suter sweepstakes...and the Ryan...and the Nash...and the Whitney.

As an Avs fan...there's no way Pitt would do that.

Why would Pittsburgh give up a first when he is gonna be a UFA anyway?

lol... Swap those picks and maybe. Or better yet just take them out... If a pick is used it would only be used for a balancing act. And with those players it certainly wouldnt be a 1st or a 2nd.

so you think that the Pens will trade for a UFA? That the Avs want Kennedy and his $2Mil contract? Doubt that they do.

We might've not qualified him, just so we can sign him to a lower deal. Picture you guys and TK.

But everything out there seems like he's heading towards FA.

To be fair it would only be 28 teams, because we don't want him back either.

Colorado wouldn't get their 1st involved in this for Tyler Kennedy lol I like how people throw that in their just to even out the deal.

Also, Tyler Kennedy is a fairly servicable guy who's a good 3rd liner and decent 2nd liner, for the Pens who are trying to win now, why would they trade him for someone more injury prone? It's not like he has an expensive contract.

We didn't do that to get Kennedy on a deal lower than his QO, his QO was only something like 800k. We didn't qualify Kennedy to prevent him from filing for arbitration, and leaving a loose end unresolved for a drawn out period of time while we were up against the cap and trying to fill out the roster. It was to ensure he could get signed before July 1st. If we weren't extremely confident of striking a deal, we wouldn't have done it.

From what little information is out there so far, it doesn't seem as though this is the case with Mueller/Colorado.

If we fall short in trying to land Parise/Whitney, he'd be a great guy to take a flier on.

No way in hell Mueller goes for 1.5M. Stars will easily double that.
