I kind of doubt there will be many. The last couple seasons they made most new customers purchase in the lower bowl since that's where the unsold tickets have been located.

Just upgraded my seats from 221 row 5 to 221 row 2. I think its well worth the $6/seat extra. I now have 3 seats so if anyone has interest in a single (as I use 2 most nights) please let me know. I'm not selling games just yet but I'd love to have a few guys who buy singles.

I have seats in 211 row 14 seats 1 & 2 ...my question is from seat upgrade map of section looks like bar in front of aisle seats in row 12 seats 1 and 2 does this mean seats will be obstructed like they are at citi field due to these bars..also is there only one way to get to say rows 22. 23 etc and that is by walking up of can you get in from top down....virtual view makes it tough to tell if you can get in from lower gateway.

you can probably take the elevator to the 10th floor and then walk from the top down.

For only 3 rows improvement? Also keep in mind they may jack up the price on those second row tickets by more than rows 3-14 in future years

The extra legroom alone is probably worth the $6. And from row 2 you'll likely also have a decent view of the TVs in row 1. Not sure exactly what they will be showing on them, but it's a nice bonus. I moved from Row 3 into Row 2 and don't regret it. I think Row 2 is the best value in the Garden. Also great for resale since there are only so many "Gallery" seats available.

Can someone who has sat in row 1 last season in one of the renovated 300 sections confirm that in fact it has more leg room. Thanks.

Don't trust MSG? lol

NEW YORK, March 5, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)
When fans return to The Garden for the 2012-13 seasons, the seating configuration in the upper bowl of the Arena will be completely transformed. The upper bowl will offer larger, more comfortable seating and significantly improved sightlines as the incline for the upper bowl will increase 17 degrees, moving fans seven to 10 feet, or nearly three rows, closer to the action. Season ticket holders will be relocated to new seats accordingly.

A completely new offering for fans next season will be the new Gallery Seats, providing a premium experience in the upper bowl. The new Gallery Seats will be the front two rows of the upper bowl and feature 25% more legroom, and superior sightlines. The first row will also have a personal television for each seat and a drink rail to rest food and beverages. Current season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase the new Gallery Seats.

I'm not sure what you're questioning. 3 rows of improvement is far from nothing when you're talking about going to the 2nd row of the whole upper deck. If I wanted to sell um, I'm sure I'd easily make my $6/seat back considering the extra leg room. Continental and Jet Blue get $45-$90 for those same 4 inches and those seats are always sold out...

Your 2nd point about the future is a concern for sure. You never know with the Rangers, but I asked 10 different ways and "for now", the Rangers have priced the tiers and intent to keep those tiers the way they are. So, everyones seats will go up, but I shouldn't see a disproportional increase due to being in row 2. Rows 2-8 are in extremely high demand, so I would think if they decided to hit row 2 hard, they'd do the same to 3-8...

And, 221 is the first section of $79 2nd row seats. 222's 2nd row is $90 (and sold out)

Not sure what was so significant about today but seems like there was a lot of movement. Not more seats available, just transferring from sections.

Yeah the legroom is nice, so if that's what your considering then 6 bucks isn't that big of a deal. Speaking of the $90 seats, they have an $11 price difference with the next dozen rows, so expect the Rangers to adjust the corners closer to that too (ie go from $79 to $84)

Could just be Monday morning effect, people in front of the computer at work and catching up on email after the weekend. Also, we're now in the meat of the large STH segment that was added in the past half dozen years

Can you give me an idea of some upper level seats that are now available? My day to move is tomorrow morning.

I just had my upgrade today.

I was able to move out of the West Balcony into the 400 section (Blue seats for $47). I am in Row B of Section 418. They had about 8 seats available in 419 in row C & D(not obstructed).

I am a happy camper. I love the west Balcony, but it was not worth an extra $17 per ticket given it's a similar sightline.

P.S. Everything in $50 + $53 range in the 200's was Red (Sold) when I went in just now.

I'm in the upgrade system right now. There's a lot more $73 seats available than I expected (250+). Currently I have 4 seats in section 214 row 9, 2 seats off the aisle. The only center 200s I see are 2 separate pairs in different sections. My next choice is lower rows in 213-214 or 221-222 (rangers shoot twice). I'd spring for row 2 if it was available. There are a lot of row 1s available in 214 but $125 is too steep. Other than that, a lateral move to 213, 222 with a similar row would be OK. Unfortunately I see rows 4+ higher than mine which to me is not worth it. Doesn't look like I'm going anywhere.

Not sure how many people are left in the upgrade queue, but I believe that people in the secondary pool will get seats in the 200s. Not sure if any will be left for new STHs aside from singles.

Edit: Looks like the total # of 200 level seats I mentioned includes the $50/$53 seats.

If I could land those 419 Row 3's, I would be so happy. I really hope they are there tomorrow morning at 10am

I am a little disappointed there is nothing left in the $50/53 though.

The system tells you how many seats are in each section. Ssection 212 shows 2 available seats but when I look at the section in detail there are no seats. So those 2 seats must be $53 since I can't switch to that price level. No idea if there are any more seats like that but it's possible.

There are no more $53 seats in 212 even though the section shows 2 openings. Earlier today there were a bunch of $53 seats available in the corner 200 levels in the back few rows. It looks like they're all gone at the moment.

I think you need to take another look. After row 12 the stairs continue up to the top of the section above the exits.

Seats starting moving around when the 10AM upgrade process hit. Switched my 4 from 214 row 9 to 213 row12. Not far distance wise but I'm now hopefully on the good side of the stairs.
