I think Schultz is in the bag.

He will be guaranteed ice time being right handed. Will be taking over from Kimmo, will be playing a solid young team, a contender, and a team thats going to pay him after his ELC

He got 5 mil on his last contract from NYR. I would only take him at the rate of 3.5. At 33 (almost 34) and logging bottom pair minutes in Phoenix I feel like 3 - 3.5 mil per is what he would land.

I just noticed something, I know that Ryan has scored more points than Voracek in the past 4 seasons (each season Ryan scored more), but Voracek is also 3 years younger, can be cheaper for the Ducks and when signed can immediately fit in where Ryan left off. And with our 1st and Mez gone, I could see the value being there.

This is for the Voracek, Mez and 1st deal.

neal wasn't as good as ryan is now when he got traded.. regardless, ryan isn't worth most of these packages that people are suggesting and it seems clear that anaheim wants too much in return for bobby.. we should just forget about it and go after parise

I don't have the numbers in front of me but I believe Neal had similair numbers to what Ryan has and was a year younger. something like 27 or 28 goals 30 assists in the 2 years prior I think he was on pace to do better then that the year he got traded too. Idk the point I was trying to make was the bold anyway

Neal's career high prior to trade: 55 points.

Ryan's career low: 57 points.

OK so aside from his rookie season he had 27G 28A for 55 Pts, the next year he was on pace for 30G 25A in the year he was traded. Ryan aside from his rookie season again had 31G 26A and 35G 29A. I don't see the huge difference.

God, I hope he doesn't do that unless Sbisa is coming back with Ryan.

I would do a smaller package for C. Stewart.

I really just don't want Bobby Ryan at all. Some of the packages I've seen on here make me think we're trading for Kovalchuk 4 years ago.

Sure some packages are wicked, but not wanting Ryan at all? Come on.

I just watched a video of Timmy P on csnPhilly.com and he basically says that the Flyers won't be getting Ryan, Schultz or Parise for various reasons. Sadly the reasons make perfect sense and I have a feeling he's right.

You don't see a huge difference between a guy scoring 30+ goals in his first four years (one of those years being only 64 games) and a guy topping out at 27 goals in his first three years? The points being 57, 64, 71, 57 vs. 37, 55, and 39 through 60 games. 24 players in the NHL scored at least 31 goals (Ryan's career low). 49 scored between 27 (Neal's high) and 21 (his total when traded). I haven't checked because it would be a lot of time, but but just from eyeballing the list of 31+ goal scorers, at least eight of them HAVE NOT done it four times in their career, let alone in a row. So that leaves 16 players currently in the NHL (at the most, because like I said I didn't check everyone's stats for the past four years) who have scored 31+ goals four times in the last four years. But yeah I guess that's no big deal. A kid who consistently scores in the mid 20s, like all those other players, is about the same.

But otherwise? I agree on that it hurts to give up that much when what we really need is D, but Bobby is a perfect fit here.
