Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton? I guess winning a cup isn't something he wants.

Someone with more knowledge of his game than I: does he really have #1 potential?

If we get this kid I'll flip. Another right-handed defenseman, highly offensive. Premier puck moving potential.

Timonen - Schultz
Coburn - Schenn
Grossmann - Carle/Meszaros

He's a PMD. He won't be physical, and with age/experience he can be a very sound, solid defenseman.

Does he have #1 potential? Sure, but most elite defensemen his age do. Most of them also don't ever become a true #1.

I'd say he's more of a #2/#3. He will probably end up around a Matt Carle with a little more defensive and point awareness.

Getting Schultz would solve our future D problem in one off season for only the expense of JVR. Schultz and Schenn could both be top pairing D men.

Coupled with Coburn, Meszaros, and Grossmann...

That's a top 5 for the foreseeable future with offense and goaltending already locked up.

I would love to see an actual quote from Schultz instead of endless speculation by the media. His pen will likely do the talking, and hopefully soon.

No doubt that the Flyers would be an ideal situation for the kid, but so are a couple of other teams.

Reporter: Justin, what went into your decision to choose Philadelphia as the place you wanted to play?

Schultz: Well Philly is a good young team and...

Homer: Excuse me there one second Justin....We have a trade to announce. *clears throat* We have acquired winger Bobby Ryan from the Anaheim Ducks.

*hands Schultz a Ducks jersey and hat*

Homer: I'd like to wish Justin good luck with his new franchise, he's a wonderful kid, and I'm sure he's going to have a great career in the NHL...for the Ducks.

Definitely looks like we are the underdog in the race, but maybe can get him some under the table incentives .

Ditch Carle, use Timonen's money to sign Weber. Throw a bone in there and you got the makings of a stew.

He is a clown. Will be a big bust like Matt Gilroy
Gilroy? He had a career-high of 37 points in college. He did that his senior year when he was 26 years old. Schultz had 47 and 44 points the last 2 years at 21 and 22.

Of course Holmgren (and many other GMs) are going to make basically identical ELC offers.

The question boils down to Schultz's preference and who makes the best sales pitch.

I love that we're finally starting to laugh about our own reputation. Thanks, Homer.

What world are we living in? One couldn't crack the top two pairings on the friggin Maple Leafs and the other was in college. It's like we think just cause we want somethign to happen it will.
