Some Nights ...

Some nights deserve no dark!
Tonight our hope did see tomorrow's light,
obscured yet feeling almost right.
Focused true yet still slightly off the mark?

Nothing less but one Rocky Mountain low,
where Oilers' sights, mostly lost, were left
on HinterLand plains at low glow,
did give less light than should be right!

So then my friends our hearts
did bleed with copper eyes,
and blue hearts to haunt a night,
where fear is in the skies!

It's official, OYLer has indeed lost it, he's resorting to the horror known as poetry to describe the team. Is there a medic in the house?!

Stright jacket you mean? Make it a copper one. Oh and OYler- for the most part, I agree. Except for the poetry part. Shudder!

One of the first posts on this board was a rhyming contest, won as I recall by Kyle's Mom from the Ottawa board, with me, redtwilight, hossa and yokel the also rans. So, there's certainly history here.

On top of that, speaking as a person who couldn't rhyme his way out of a limerick if he was standing in Nantucket, I applaud the metre.

If it has a good beat and you can dance to it, I'll give it a 10.
