I don't think it would be a problem for any of Hemsky/Eberle/Yakupov to move to LW, but I'd rather keep Eberle on the right. I just don't see any reason to split up the Hall-Nuge-Eberle line to be honest.

Of course, I would personally just put a Paajarvi/Smyth/Hartikainen on the 2nd line and keep all the RWs at right wing:

Hall - Nuge - Eberle
Hartikainen/Paajarvi - Gagner - Yakupov
Smyth - Horcoff - Hemsky
Paajarvi/Hartikainen/Eager - Belanger - Jones

I have a problem seeing a good fit for Hemsky, sadly.

If I want a smaller 1st line:

Hemsky - RNH - Eberle
Hall - Gags - Yakupov
Harti - Horcoff - Paajarvi/Jones
Paajarvi/Jones - Belanger - Petrell

Hordichuk

Get rid of Eager, after RNH got run at and Eager just walked off the ice, I haven't liked him since.

If I want to spread out scoring ability a bit and fit some size:

Harti - RNH - Eberle
Hall - Gagner - Hemsky
MPS - Horcoff - Yakupov
Jones - Belanger - Petrell

My dream if Daniil can crack the line up and being pretty good:

Daniil/Hall - RNH - Eberle
Hall/Daniil - Gagner - Yakupov
MPS - Horcoff - Harti
Jones - Belanger - Petrell

I agree with this. I still hope & Belanger will be traded and Smyth won't be re-signed though.

everybody hates omark here but i dont think we should get rid of the guy sign him 2 way hes got 30 points in 65 nhl games and you know hes not playing top minutes. not like he will cost us anything. and i dont believe he hold as high value as we would like to think and he could be a good fill if we move hemmer, for deman.

If the Oilers get 80 games each from all of Hemsky, Gagner, Yakupov, Hall, RNH and Eberle I don't care where they play in the lineup... their output is going to be disgusting next season.

Ima start sacrificing virgins, puppies and babies to the hockey gods now because injuries are the only thing that holds that group back.

Hemsky and Yakupov aren't third liners.

Hall-RNH/FA-Eberle
Hemsky-RNH/FA-Yakupov
Hartikainen/Eager-Horcoff-Jones
Eager-Belanger-Petrell

Im guessing we trade PRV and Gagner as a package for a D or 2nd Center. If we get a D back then horcoff as 2nd Line C. (I know yuck but whatever maybe Yakupov can spark horcoff and hemsky)

like JVR, Schenn, Briere, Staal, Voracek aren't 3rd liners?
and Couturier and Seguin aren't 4th liners?

Just out of curiosity I looked up the number of 1st round picks in the Oilers organization currently...

Yakupov #1
RNH #1
Hall #1
Barker #3
Whitney #5
Gagner #6
Smyth #6
Smid #9
Paajarvi #10
Teubert #13
Hemsky #13
Dubnyk #14
Plante #15
Klefbom #19
Eberle #22
Eager #23

In total 16 first rounders (of course Smyth and Barker are not really "here" at the moment but that's beside the point).

That must be a record for most 1st round draft picks in an organization at any one time.

I guess this means we should start following the NYI method to get as many first round picks as possible

Eberle-RNH-Yakupov
Hall-Gagner-Hemsky

the top six is really that easy. Eberle is the easiest to slide over. Hemsky best partner is Hall. Eberle/RNH are the best combination. Yakupov will benefit greatly from RNH.

I agree, Yakupov is a first liner, they're already pushing him which is excellent.

Hemsky has a new 10 million dollar deal going so I wouldn't mind him on the first line as well. I mean he is in his prime, we know he's elite when healthy.

Hemsky-Gagner-Yakupov <- Hemsky right handed shot
Hall- RNH-Eberle <-all finishers with great passing skills
Petrell-Horcoff-Paajarvi
Eager-Belanger-Jones

*Switch RNH and Gagner if needed.
*Kreuger can switch Horcoff and Belanger as well.

Let them all fight it out in camp. I have a bit of a soft spot for the Eberle and RNH combo, but then again all three of the kids did well when paired together. I will be surprised if any combination plays together more than 25 games. I expect that slumps and injuries will force a lot of mixing during the season.

A very young core with a new coach who will want to experiement with chemistry, better get a new pair of sunglasses because the future looks bright in Edmonton.

With the signing of schultz, I think we can actually have a balanced (if inexperienced) lineup next year without actually signing anyone. Look:

Yakupov-RNH-Eberle
Hall-Gagner-Hemsky
Paajarvi-Horcoff-Jones
Hartikainen-Belanger-Petrell
Eager

Whitney-Smid
Schultz-Petry
Sutton-Schultz
Potter

Dubnyk
Khabibulin

Hall is there to carry the second line, Hemmer and Gagner need help with puck retrieval and need a shooter. Obviously I think Yak would be amazing in that position, there is already talk from Krueger about playing the left wing (he shoots left anyway).

Paajarvi can be molded into an elite checking player with 2nd line offense hopefully one day. I think he's ready for the NHL now.

At this point, is Smyth just taking icetime away from the younguns? I wonder.
