Your statement was he was a bum, referencing what the preds did in the 2011 playoffs, which was winning 6 games.

i want to know what, in the frame of this discussion, that makes Josi since he is another young kid, who played on the 2nd pair, that was called up mis-season, that plays a similar game and won less? Or gonna keep dodging the question?

to answer yours, it looked like he didn't want to be in milwaukee. He had to readjust, and once he did, he was fine. A comparison is warrented becasue they are close in age, experience, and what they bring with their skillset.
I did not compare him to Josi or anyone else. You did. I based my opinion on Blum not Weber, Suter, Peka, Fisher, or Trotz. My opinion is Blum a 23 y/o drafted in the 1st round (23) overall who has yet to have a long stretch in the NHL has a name Blum that rings well with Bum.
Like i said before:"Maybe the comparisons and opinions needs to be saved and discussed after Blum can stay in the NHL for an extended period of time."

Until then i sure hope Josi does not pull a Blum. It would be nice if Blum and Wilson would live up to the spots they were drafted in.

ellis has the highest ceiling but i think he is most likely to be a complete bust defensively. simply too small.. and why he wasnt drafted higher.

josi looks to be an up coming top pair defenseman. loved what i seen out of his rookie campaign. has all the tools but has big time durability issues.

blum is a potential top 4 guy that can be here in nashville if he gets his head on straight. he had a bad year.. ill wait till next to make an ultimate decision.

i wouldn't be surprised in 2 years to see ellis traded or not hacking it, josi out indefinitely with concussions, and blum the only one in our lineup with a guy like klein on our second pair.

Josi is a stud.

Ellis is an offensive zone stud.

I hope Blum can get back to what we saw a few years ago.

Weber - Josi
Klein - Blum
Gill (yep hes comin back) - Ellis

Ekholm

i'll take that.

Blum improved from bad to okay in the AHL. He was never great this season.

Conversely, Blum was fantastic the year before last, even through the playoffs against two dynamic offenses in Anaheim and vancouver. He is closer to that player, IMO, than the one who had no confidence last season.

IF he can get back to that level and improve on that, and IF Josi continues on the same path, we could still have a very strong D core for many years, even if Suter jets.

I believe he will be very good. I wish he didn't have that out clause to Sweden last year but not it's over atleast. I'm excited for Ekholm to get more ice time on NA ice and get some confidence.

I think his Swedish club dictated that.

I totally agree!!
Josi is flavor of the day, but I feel (IMO) that Blum will be the better (defenceman).

They did. Worked out for everybody: Ekholm was named the Elitserien's best defenseman, and Brynäs won the championship for the first time since 1999.

He'll be back, and I suspect he'll contend for a roster spot this year.

Blum will have an awesome turn around this year imo. He by far will be the most ready for big NHL minutes out of these 3.
