Yeah it's just conditioning and physical tests for the time being. Things won't get really interesting until the scrimmages start.

According to Leslie's tweets this morning:

Bell & Bathgate can be signed.

Fox is draft eligible next year.

No comments on anyone else as of yet (which likely means she hasn't really noticed anything special in there games - so far).

HFNYRangers: Fast does not look particularly fast, but McColgan has stepped up every area of his game.
I asked Leslie if Fast speed was as evident as it was in the World Juniors, she didn't think so.

Score is 3-2, but we've only heard who was credited for 3 goals:

Quote:
Nieves very impressive rush up ice for score.

Andersson with cute goal over invitee goalie.

Goodrow with very nice shot for goal.
Seems like Leslie is pretty impressed with Nieves:

Quote:
Nieves has good stick work

Nieves looks very impressive all over the ice w good work ethic.
And while she apparently didn't particularly notice Fast's speed (as Boyler points out), she did say:

Quote:
Fast is amazing protecting the puck.

I asked Leslie about Nieves and I said that from his bios he sounds like Jason Chimera/Andrew Yogan blend. Her response:

Quote:
HFNYRangers: Better than Yogan.

HFNYRangers: Fast very good @ maneuvering in tight spaces.
Just like I have been saying. Fasth is more slippery and quick than down-right fast. His feet and body position are very good, similar to the way Dastyuk is so difficult to square up for a player his size. It the quickness of his feet.

Is Fast 100% recovered from his leg injury or is he still a work in progress?

I sure hope so.

Yogan has been so overrated on these boards.

Any updates on some of the tryouts?? Which players will have the best chance to sign?? I wound not mind another Bathgate in the system ..could be a solid story down the road if he earns an AHL or NHL contract....

I am not a Dr., but it takes at least 6 months to get the muscle tone and strength back to where you would say you are close to fully recovered.

Kyle Jean is an interesting kid. Big frame, but I always heard his skating is borderline terrible. Hopefully Leslie can shine some light onto that.

The scoring:
First half
Blue 1-0: Yogan shoves in a goal at the right post past Jason Missiaen
Blue 2-0: Nieves just explodes with his first step in the neutral zone, stickhandles through traffic, gets to the net and beats Missiaen. Highlight-reel goal.
Second half
Blue 2-1: Alex Rauter scores with a backhander from the slot past Gabe Grunwald, the son of Knicks’ GM Glen Grunwald
Blue 3-1: Fourth-round pick Calle Andersson scores from the slot on a shot that goes up and over Tony Grosenick
White 3-2: Barclay Goodrow, can’t tell you much more than that
White 3-3: Oscar Lindberg takes a shot from the blue line that is deflected in front past Grunwald
White 4-3: Kyle Jean scores on a shot through traffic
White 5-3: Kyle Jean beats Grunwald to the far post from the left.

It sounds like Bell, Bathgate and Jean are the best of the try-outs at this point.
