Of course, but it's cool that the family is rooted there one way or another, and that it wouldn't seem he'd have a problem 'defecting' from Russia if his family is behind him

He probably is good at math, and realizes that he might become a sixth/seventh defensemen, so he naturally stalls on a new deal and waiting for a better option. Puistola, Pilar, Obsut, Podhradsky + local Lyutkevich so there will be a huge competition for places.

well if he was already on a contract with them there's nothing to stall about. fight for a roster spot on a KHL team or go back to the VHL. easy 'math' right there.

At this rate they'll need to make a Donbass-3

Solovev was 2nd on the Foxes in points, and Tereshchenko was good enough for a callup

think either has a future? why would Magnitka give up 3 homegrown prospects?

Because they will never be good enough to make their main team in near future.

I'll never fully understand why the KHL has a draft when players who are drafted by one team choose to sign with another.

I have brought this up a while ago, may be Donbass will give CSKA a next year's draft pick?

that's so weird that he can be on the Donbass farm team, signed by Donbass, but can't get called up because another KHL team drafted him after he signed....and they drafted him out of Sokil? How?

it's a loophole that never should have happened.

He had not valid contract with Donbass at the moment of draft. Only verbal agreement or so.

Why can not drafted player play for any team outside of KHL?
