Buyout Brzgalov Trade for Luongo

What about trading Brayden Coburn, Matt Read and a 1st for Luongo and then buying out Bryzgalov or trade him for nothing?

It'd actually help free up cap space to bring in another player and it'd solve the goalie problems.

What about taking a cordless drill to my head? It would be more pleasurable than seeing this happen.

Blow some more cap space buying out one scapegoat, and trading some very good pieces for another scapegoat. Excellent idea

Not sure if serious.......

I wouldn't trade Coburn alone or my 1st alone for Luongo... let alone both of them AND Read, and it's not like Luongo is THAT much better than Bryz, theyre both on terrible contracts.

just awful, awful, awful.

What about waiting more than one inconsistent season before making a rash decision on Bryzgalov? When has a goaltender not had an inconsistent first season with a new team in a new city and environment? Let him get settled and have an offseason that lets him reflect and get ready, since he knows what to expect and where he needs to be better now?

I think there's a good chance we see a much better bryz this season.

No I wouldn't give up Coburn or/and a first for Luongo. That's too much. And I want to see how Bryz plays this upcoming season before I'll even consider proposals like this. Hopefully he can bounce back and we can avoid this kind of deals.

I don't think it's possible to see a worse one (outside of a stellar March).

I have a great deal of faith in Holmgren to do something mindnumbingly stupid, but the initial proposal is beyond his ability. Or at least I hope so.

Hey guys, as many of you have stated. I'm not sure if you are aware of how Luongo's contract is structured.

Again, I before I go further, I'm not some troll as I have stated that I do root for the Flyers. Luongo's contract is structured to be a cap circumvention contract regardless of what you hear. The media really tries to portray this incorrectly because they know they can't openly admit it.

Any team that trades for Luongo is really trading for him for another 6 years. However, after those 6 years, the team has an opt-out. They can look for a trading partner, Luongo can decide to retire (cap comes off the books), or you could waive him. Most people who understand the contract know that if you are to waive him, he would most likely retire due to his pride.

Another thing, Luongo is a far superior goaltender than Bryz will ever be. Bryz strived under the PHX system and it's the same with how Mike Smith is now...just my two cents before everyone thinks his contract is till 2022 when there are plentiful of options when the time comes.

Just saying doing something like this would help free cap space to make a move for Nash or Ryan or sign a free agent. Maybe trade Meszaros instead of Coburn, but just get rid of a big contract in the trade.

and as much as everyone here seems not to like Luongo he's still much better than Bryzgalov at a simiar contract.

If I could get Parise or Semin + Luongo for Bryzgalov, Meszaros or Coburn, 1st and Read. I'd take that.

A guy who was crowned as a savior in a pressure market on goalies. Came from two small market teams that had no media pressure like here in philly. I'd say give the guy another chance before you start making silly proposals about the guy. He knows what to expect now playing here and he now knows what he needs to do to get adjusted to this next season. New team his second year. Next area to live in with his family. Let the man get used to everything.

Bryz is just the scapegoat like Carle is. When things go bad just blame Bryz and Carle. Just deny the fact the last few teams that put us out the playoffs have gone on to win to cup or go to the finals.

I say this with complete sincerity, this might be the worst proposal I've ever seen on these boards.

This proposal equals:

-Loss of cap space due to the buyout
-Loss of assets to have a comparable situation in net

Also, hey, one of these goalies has a ring, can you name him? Lol.

No way. Bryz is a good goalie and there is no reason to get rid of him until the team shows they know how to play defense. If he struggles with the team playing consistent defense in front of him, then they can think about getting rid of him.

How about we trade Bryzgalov, Coburn, Read and a 1st for Curtis McIlhenney.

I like the way you think.

Afterwards, I'd like to pay you 1000 dollars to jackhammer my ankles; I think that will greatly improve my situation. See, my ankles have given me issues for years. This way I change the original problem for a different one, and I pay you for the privilege!

^^^this^^^..

not to mention there is NOOOOO chance Luongo would come from a market were he was under the microscope to Philly were he would be an Ant under the same microscope but looked at under an even brighter spotlight..

no chance this can happen.
