Maxwell is there. I could of sworn we gave up on him a while back.

Man, this team is loaded with young prospects. Not many winger prospects though. Not counting all the young stars on the team already or our '12 draft, this is a pretty nice list.

C- Joey Hishon
C- Mark Olver
C- Mike Connoly
C- Michael Sgarbossa
C- Brad Malone
D- Stefan Elliot
D- Cameron Guance
D- Tyson Barrie
D- Duncan Siemens
G- Sami Aittokallio
G- Calvin Pickard

The future looks bright for Colorado.

Indeed. That does look solid. Maybe our team next year will compete and help out the development of the youngins.

Here's Rick Pracey on Les & Jojo. Before you listen, Les & Jojo are idiots so there's that. They're ****ing annoying as well, they don't know anything outside Broncos.

Two things I find really interesting in this interview:

1. It seems like they want to have a very good look at Heard in camp. Possibility of 4th line C? Maybe.

2. Also very interesting that he always mentions Barrie before Elliott. Are they feeling better about Barrie than Elliott at this point? Personally I think they should. I think Barrie did a lot better defensively and was starting to get a lot more involved offensively towards the end of the year.

Great interview though.

Seeing Barrie live at the WJC and watching the games they both played in the NHL, I have always maintained (and think it's widely accepted) that Barrie is the more NHL ready of the 2, but that Elliott has more high-end potential. Barrie has been said to play a style like Dan Boyle, and Elliott being similar to Mike Green. It is a reason why I have always like Barrie more and feel he will end up having the better career.

1. Given his age and his circumstances in the CHL they'll get a good chance to evaluate him with better talent at camp.

2- He could be going alphabetically. Barrie does seem to be more well-rounded at this time, I am glad that the Avs are stocked up on the blue line and can let these two develop without hurrying.

Very true, but personally speaking... Elliott has (had) the confidence in himself to play aggressively. Something I value in defenseman. Barrie played a much more 'safe' game and it hindered his performance in my opinion.

I'll take Elliott over Barrie even if he never can play better defense than someone like Liles in his prime because he has such high potential offensively.

That shot... it's just so perfect.

That confidence seemed to disappear after three or four games, when the opposition was aware of him. He's going to have to develop some other tricks, because once they figured out not to give him space, and to take away his shooting lanes, he was like a completely different defenseman.

Hopefully he takes some strides next year. My bet is Elliott gets closer to Green than Barrie does to Boyle.

An odd question but I need reassurance on this.

Duchene struggled a lot this year. Can you and do you guys expect him to rebound back? Before it was Landeskog+Duchene leading this team and now I see Duchene on the third line in everyone's lineups here.

Where do you see Duchene topping out this year? Where is he now (injury-free?) and where do you see his career going?

I know he isn't a prospect per se but he is a young guy. Where does he fit in with the plans?

Being on the "third" isn't exactly a bad thing. I see the Avs rolling three offensive lines with relatively equal ice-time, and the fourth to give the other lines a bit of a break. Duchene will be given plenty of oppurtunity to get his game back, and I believe he'll be paired with PAP and either Duke or Downie. He'll have good linemates, he just needs to learn to use them.

Points/Fantasy wise for the future? Being on the third line can't help for that (and while I feel and maybe you as well) Duchene is more talented than ROR and Stastny, being put on the third line may hinder him almost like Staal.

Why do you think he struggled immensely last year? Where do you see his points heading for this year and beyond?

MildlyAwesome; Avs forwards simply aren't good bets for fantasy leagues. We will roll 3 scoring lines pretty evenly and not rely on one unit too much like a lot of teams do. Due to that, I don't expect any 35+ goal scorers or 80+ point guys on our team.

Duchene will get the most offensive zone starts off all our centers, there's no doubt in that.

Sounds like the Avs have invited JC Lipon to training camp. He's been passed over twice in the NHL draft and is a linemate of draft pick Colin Smith with the Kamloops Blazers. Very hard working kid, very similar to Smith actually.

Both are likely to be in the top 10-15 in WHL scorers next year with the Blazers.

Nice, you can't have too much competition in TC.

I might be really late on this....

But why does 'Hockey's Future' has our prospect weaknesses as
"Goaltending Quality"? I don't get that at all

Noone knows why.
I would assume in reality it is high-skill wing (forward) depth

I thought I read somewhere that the development camp starts tomorrow the 10th. Am I right?
