Who Deserves Hall of Fame???

Joe Sakic, Brendan Shanahan, Mats Sundin, and Jeremy Roenick are all first-year eligible for the Hockey Hall of Fame. The induction announcement is happening Tuesday on TSN! (This is from TSN's Facebook page.)

If you could select only ONE of the above mentioned to be sent to the Hall this year, who would it be... and why?

Joe Sakic my first choice. Great player, hof first ballot. Stats especially that assist total is ridiculously great. As recognized as he is as a great player, I still say he is underrated. Maybe among top 12 centers in NHL history IMO.

Shanahan deserves hof as well as Sundin.

Roenick? Please! Nice player but should not sniff it.

I thought Bure and Mogilny were eligible too, and both deserve to be in. How many are allowed in per year ? If only 4, should be Sakic, Shanny, Sundin and Bure.

Sakic - 2-time SC champ, 13-time All-star, great leader, and had a twisted wrister

3 per year. Probably will be Sakic, Shanahan, and Sundin.

Sakic no question. All those guys are great, but Sakic the best of them.

If I'm only choosing one, it's Sakic all the way. Classy guy on and off the ice to match the awesome stats.

Sakic. One of the most dominate players of his day, multiple championships, stand-up guy, great leader, clutch player, one of the most consistent players of all time. If he doesn't deserve it-nobody in the next 20 years does.

Congrats to Joe Sakic, Mat Sundin, Adam Oates and Pavel Bure, Hockey Hall of Fame class of 2012. Surprised Brendan Shanahan didn't make it.
Surprised Shanny didn't get in also..

I'm thinking Shanny's new role as NHL enforcer may have had something to do with it. Enough voters were peeved that this suspension was too long, or that player didn't get suspended for a dirty hit, or whatever the case and gave other players their votes.

I think it'll be another 2-3 years for him bure and Oates have waited long enough and Sakic is a lock no matter what. But shanny should have gotten the nod before sundin

I thought Shanny was as big of a lock as Sakic was. Surprising for sure. I love guys like him, skilled with the ability to knock the stuffing out of you. I'm an old schooler, I like old time hockey players like him, Neely, etc.
