Despite not spending close to the cap (which would never happen), I would be fine with a roster like the below next season:

I do not know what Kyle Wellwood would sign for. He had a very productive season last year and is good on faceoffs. Latendresse is a reclamation project if he is healthy.

Schultz signing is the gravy.

FORWARDS
Scott Hartnell ($4.200m) / Claude Giroux ($3.750m) / Jakub Voracek ($3.250m)
Wayne Simmonds ($1.750m) / Danny Briere ($6.500m) / Brayden Schenn ($3.110m)
Guillaume Latendresse ($1.500m) / Sean Couturier ($1.375m) / Matt Read ($0.900m)
Eric Wellwood ($0.580m) / Kyle Wellwood ($2.000m) / Maxime Talbot ($1.750m)
Jody Shelley ($1.100m) / Zac Rinaldo ($0.544m)
DEFENSEMEN
Kimmo Timonen ($6.333m) / Luke Schenn ($3.600m)
Braydon Coburn ($4.500m) / Nicklas Grossmann ($3.500m)
Andrej Meszaros ($4.000m) / Justin Schultz ($1.750m)
Andreas Lilja ($0.738m) / Erik Gustafsson ($0.900m)
GOALTENDERS
Ilya Bryzgalov ($5.667m)
Scott Clemmensen ($1.200m)
------
CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $70,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,496,944; BONUSES: $2,705,000
CAP SPACE (24-man roster): $5,803,056

Edit: Here is an article with Latendresse saying he is healthy. Maybe Pronger should try this concussion treatment.

I think most of these guys are most likely not available. And if they are to be had would require a significant overpayment. The ones in bold are probably the ones you can get via trade without giving up the farm and are top line players. The ones underlined are not top 6 wingers on this team. I prefer the UFA route, of Semin, or Parise. And if not well we have what we have and I'm sure our Gm will come up with something anyway

Sorry i was little confused to when i say top 6 winger, i mean that in Philly we have to have 3 good lines with potential to score, we need physical players to each line, so when i say top 6 winger i mean line 1 wingers(two), line 2 wingers(two) line 3 wingers(two), so there is top6 wingers in three lines.

All those you underlined can play third line wingers in philly, to bring scoringpotential and physicality.

We should also sign Jussi Timonen as the 7th d-man so we can have three sets of brothers

I didn't even know Kimmo had a brother. We totally need to sign him, he's only 28 too. We forever need a Timonen on this team.

Yea, he was actually in the Flyers system for a while. I think he was traded a little after we sign Kimmo

My personal preferences for UFA signings/trades to address the hole left by dealing JVR:

1. Parise (don't have to give anything up; not likely we'll get him)
2. Ryan (trade, but he has expressed interest in coming here)
3. Kane (trade, and he'd probably cost a pretty penny - but he'd be a great fit here)
4. Semin (probably the most talented goal scorer available, but has character issues)
5. Doan (don't expect him to go anywhere at this point, but he'd be a great veteran leader and big scoring presence)
6. Uhhh...I guess what we've got now isn't so bad.

I don't get it. You would be fine with Ryan but wouldn't give up the value proper for him. I just don't get it.

Prust wants 2.1M per season. I'm not sure I'd be happy with that contract.

$1.9M in Phila is worth more then $2.1M in NY.

It would be hard to give him more then what Talbot is making but they are similar players as far as the intangibles they bring to a team.

I like Prust, but for close to 2M, I'd prefer a McClement, Moen or spending a bit more for Gaustad.

Honestly, the abilities of McClement or Gaustad in the faceoff circle make them worth a lot more to me than Prust.

Simmonds had eight less points and three less goals than Ryan last year and he didn't spend the entire season playing with Getzlaf and Perry. And he can actually skate and he isn't making 5 million plus a year. Simmonds+ is fair value. Bobby Ryan is not that big a deal people.

That looks like a really solid team from top to bottom, the only thing I would like is for Wellwood to get a full-time position in the top 12. But I am not against an upgrade at any position.

I think I'm over trying to trade for someone, looks like we'd have to include Schenn/Couturier and I wouldn't do that. For me it's either Parise/Suter/Semin/Doan or nothing.

Not at what he's currently reported to be seeking. Reclamation implies that they come at some sort of discount. If Semin is currently seeking a raise off the 6.7M he made last year on a 5+ year deal, that's crazy.

For me, Semin is ~5.5M over 4 years or 7M for 1 year. That's it.

I don't think there's much of a hole left by JVR, but as far as moves go I'd ove to see 1, 5, or even 6 happen.
