Dude, not everyone has the Sedin twins putting up Art Ross Trophy seasons on their 1st lines, calm down a bit. Doan is a 1st liner, and I'd love to see him on the Canucks, should he decide to leave the Phoenix/Winnipeg/Wherever-they-might-go franchise.

This is why I said I didn't think it was possible. In this scenario you dumped Clowe and Murray for picks and still managed to spend to the cap while underestimating several players salaries. Braun will likely be 1.75mil because his contract has a 3rd year (UFA year). Whitney is old, but he just put 77 points and had an amazing year. He will likely cost more than 3.6 mil. I would also expect the sharks to have about 1 mil available for their 7th D man.

Adater is not very reputable he blocks you if you disagree or prove he made a mistake, Its obvious that Doan will go to July 1st, don't think Maloney stated it.

As far as rumors go he is all over the place and basically just speculates. But "NEWS" it's self is his job and he usually does not report BS. That much I know..

As a Caps fan I personally can't stand him. Dude is still mad about the Varlamov trade, based on draft tweets.

He tried to rile people up, it's nothing new. He does it to Avs fans as well, I personally don't care about it. I get a good laugh at people that gets mad at him.

Reason Dater posted it, was because of Eklund's rumour of Avs going after him.

If Brian Burke managed to sign Doan I would forgive the drafting of 2 dman with our top 2 picks.

That being said I doubt it happens but would be so happy if it did.

Lupul - JVR - Kessel
Kulemin - Grabovski - Doan

JVR has played center before and for some reason I feel like Carlyle will try it.

From the Arizona Republic Coyotes beat writer:

Sarah McLellan ‏@azc_mclellan
Maloney went on NHL Live today and said he's not optimistic deal with Doan gets done before July 1 but is optimistic Doan remains a Coyote.

Sarah McLellan ‏@azc_mclellan
Talking to Dave Tippett today he still hopes something gets done in the next few days before July 1.

Sarah McLellan ‏@azc_mclellan
Doan said in his exit interview he wants to remain a Coyote but will answer calls on July 1. Resigning him still top priority for Coyotes.

Okay fine... Keeping Clowe. If we can unload Handzus somehow then we would have almost 1 million in cap space. I am also a supporter of losing Niemi so that could clear up quite a bit of room too.

FORWARDS
Ray Whitney ($3.500m) / Joe Thornton ($7.000m) / Martin Havlat ($5.000m)
Patrick Marleau ($6.900m) / Logan Couture ($2.875m) / Shane Doan ($4.000m)

Daniel Winnik ($2.400m) / Dominic Moore ($1.100m) / Andrew Desjardins ($0.620m)
T.J. Galiardi ($0.735m) /
DEFENSEMEN
Dan Boyle ($6.667m) / Brent Burns ($5.760m)
Brad Stuart ($3.600m) / Marc-Edouard Vlasic ($3.100m)
Justin Braun ($1.250m) / Jason Demers ($1.250m)
Jim Vandermeer ($0.800m) /
GOALTENDERS
Antti Niemi ($3.800m)

Odds are good Doan will only be looking at 2-4 teams so he will not be commanding a ridiculous amount of money imo. Whitney comes with a slight raise for nostalgia.
