Sure, but a commitment isn't really a promise. I would say breaking commitment to go to another school would be like breaking a promise, unless something happens like the coach leaves. Breaking commitment for the CHL is considerably less "worse" and breaking commitment for a pro contract I think is something pretty much everyone has no issue with.

But I do like that he takes his commitment seriously.

Oh yeah. I wouldn't hold it against him if he was advised to take the contract by the Sabres and broke his commitment. But, the fact that its important to him and he takes it seriously is a great character indicator. Not that ZG hasn't already proven he's a great competitor and person.
