Any thoughts on Corbeil? I thought he looked kinda clunky in the Mem Cup... but I thought Desjardins did too, and he seemed to find a way as a battler on a strong team to keep winning and make his way as a pro (if only as a #3 guy).

Sorry, no, I was just throwing out another name on the list of possible goalies to audition, but he's not in the camp.

You really have to think if a goalie was jettisoned by Columbus... one of the few teams that might be as badly off as us for organizational depth?... then there must be a great big red flag there anyway. I just haven't seen him much aside from the Mem Cup, so was soliciting any further opinion.

An article on Lane from an year ago. Apparently he's the little brother of former Brampton Battalion Philip Lane who was a 2nd rounder from 2010.

Quote:
He admits that the OHL is something that’s “in the back of my head,” and something that he has discussed with his brother, “but as of now I think I want to play college hockey,” he said.
He's our most interesting invite IMO.

Well since we didnt draft a goalie, I really like the looks of Etienne Marcoux, numbers wise anyway. His development curve is going in the right direction anyway.
Could get a contract and steal the show.

What Marcoux lacks in technique, he has in heart and hard work. Maybe with a little time, we never know. It is a good bet to have him on board to see by themselves how much work it needs to be done. But potential wise, Lagacé seems the better prospect. Let just say though that goalies aren't my strenght. I once thought that Heino-Lindberg looked awfully good. And needless to say that after having Mayer has a ND in his draft year, this freakin guy changed my mind in a development camp....Somehow i was fooled though. Nicola Riopel was there and was seen as a much better prospect. Somehow, on that camp, Riopel looked like a Quattrochi type of prospect while Mayer looked very good....probably the best till that day. Anyway....I still believe we could have done way more. Whether some goalies aren't invited...whether other teams were faster than us.

Or why not in the NCAA like most of the teams are doing? How about Volkening? Chris Noonan? Troy Grosenick? Garrett Bartus? Of course the answer is, that they didn't like any of them. Could be. But at one point, we will need to be proactive as far as our goalie depth is concerned.
I felt the same thing with Heino-Lindberg, really was impressed with him at the development camp, but it's the same for me as goalie in the only position I never played at an organized level (or anytime ever for that matter) so it's always tough for me to get a good read on goalies.

I don't know anyting about Noonan since he plays in the AHA a conference that is usually never on tv and rarely has NHL draft picks playing there. Grosenick I like a lot but he's at NYR's camp I believe. Bartus I also don't know since he's also in the AHA.

For me I hoping we can sign Doug Carr if he turns pro next summer. Frank Slubowski is another one I like a lot, teammate of Cichy's but he was a Freshman so no telling when he will want to turn pro. Juho Olkinuora at Denver was impressive as well this year as anothe Freshman. Will Yanakeff at Michigan State is another that I like. Now sure where Kenny Reiter will end up, haven't heard anything but I think he could be a good addition to ECHL as a 5th goalie for us, he's not flashy but he wins a lot and has won a National Championship also a teammate of Kishel's.

Can someone let me know what time the players will hit the ice tomorrow? I would like to catch Galchenyuk, Collberg etc. in action.

Let me know!

First full blown Montreal media exposure handled quite nicely by Alex Galchenyuk at #Habs development camp. Curious to see crowd this aft.
