I think it is getting closer to the point where we deal Hamels. I think he's great and I'd love him here, but I just don't see the Phillies working out this season and don't see him coming back. I think the Phillies are crazy if they don't deal him (unless they are closer to signing him than it appears from all published reports).
Cole should have started the 8th, and today he showed what type of pitcher he is. He was matched up against another premiere starter and threw 7 shutout innings.
Did I hear that right? Raul Valdes is starting tomorrow?

It's a bullpen start, like the Rays had on Sunday night. I know the Phillies did this 6 or 7 years ago in a game in Toronto. I think Rheal Cormier started.

I know, but dude still doesn't spell his name right.
Which Cormier was that? good year Cormier or bad year Cormier?
Hey guys wanted to ask if there was any talk of Chooch makin the All Star team? I was looking at his stats and seems he could be a solid pick. Wondering if anyone here knew or has heard anything on it. I'd be pretty pumped to see him make it.

even though chooch's stats destroy any other catcher in the NL buster posey is currently leading the vote lol

Posey is 1 and Molina is 2 IIRC. All three good options, but I think Ruiz will be there regardless of if it's fan voted or not. Don't the manager fill the teams[bench]?

i think the manager picks like the last 3 or something. So yes, there is a shot of chooch not making the game depsite being third in the major in OBP, and the overall batting leader he's the best offensive catcher in the league right now and hell his defense is pretty damn good too.

Unless it has changed recently, the fans vote the starting fielders and the managers pick the rest. Then they do that "last vote" or whatever and the fans vote one more person in. I think Chooch will make it probably because no one else on the Phillies will and each team has a representative. Maybe Hamels.

I just looked it up... it's fan votes for the starting line up(8 NL/9 AL)...then 16 spots go to player votes(pitchers and 1 back up)...then 9 Nl spots/8 AL spots are picked by manager so yeah you're right. then they do the final vote. Hamels deserves an AS bid too.
