Then you're worried about structure/system, which is what I pointed to. Patrick Kane is the PP QB on any unit he's on. He's the guy you want to have the puck. The only things Anton Babchuk and Sheldon Souray are good for are hammering in Kane passes.. which is something Seabrook can do just as easily.

Chicago's PP units have been great the prior two years to this year. It's absolutely not a personnel problem.

It's both that I'm worried about. I think Seabrook could be the man for it. Keith can't hit the net to save his life, and Hammer is scared ****less to unleash anything that even resembles a SOG. Like I said, I THINK Seabrook could pull it off over a full season... but I still wouldn't be against bringing in another guy who specializes in it.

I don't think I can watch another full season of nothing but cross-crease passes that fail every time, and get cleared more often than not, killing 30 seconds after it took them 45 seconds to gain zone.

Maybe they go with the backdoor play full time now.

Suter doesn't want to play for a team in nashville's division if they don't resign him. Probably Pitt or Philly.

Why not?

Too afraid his feelings will be hurt when some former fans boo him 2-3 times a year? Not buying it.

Moore as 2C will not work, not even on Colombus. Besides, if the SJS even have half a brain they'll sign Moore there so he and his family dont have to move around.

If Moore is your second line center you aren't a playoff team. Probably not even CLOSE to a playoff team. Pass.

He's better than Kruger, but I suppose he wasn't the full-time #2C last year so that doesn't quite count.

At any rate, I agree that the upgrade at that spot needs to be a (much) better player than Moore.

I wouldn't be against Moore as long as someone is able to finally convince Q that there is no rule against Bolland being the 2C.

Actually his cap is just about perfect, yes it won't go to 70.3 but he is 5.3 under the cap at about 65 which is about where it should be 65-66 move Frolik and boom now your 2-3 million under the cap.

Moore is so good, he was a scratch for the Sharks. That's how good he is.

Krüger is better than Moore, Moore is just older

It would suck to see Hossa once again not play with a playmaking center but it would really suck to see Mayers be a regular again. (much prefer him as an extra forward, as he is still good at what he does, but just too old for a grinding 82 game season)

Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook will have more say in the Hawks making the playoffs than whoever they plug into the 2nd line centre spot.

Says who? The posters here at HFB? It's just being ASSUMED that he MIGHT prefer Chicago because of it, but ultimately the dollar rules all, especially with how little time they spend at home during the season. He could always get a "cheap" apartment near the team he signs with, and still use the Chicago or Madison area as his primary residence.
