Jagr said many things. You can't take it seriously. It will be the east. If there is no other choice, then may be the west. It depends on money, travelling and his position in a team.

Well, he was saving himself and still somehow managed to get all franchise records and pushed Rangers back to the playoffs in 3 consecutive seasons after almost 10 years of total misery... Seems like he's quite lousy in resting.

However, those young and maturing kids in Philly were quite psyched when he arrived there last year so I hope he will continue and save himself for the playoffs once more

Uh, no. He got the single season goals and points records. That was his first season (oddly enough he played hard every game that year). And then his production declined. And so did his attitude. For that matter his production declined from his last year to last year in Philly. Want him back? He's all yours.

You neglected to mention that he had major surgery on his shoulder after his first season. He then lost his centerman (Nylander), when the Rangers had the brilliant idea to sign Drury and Gomez instead. So he ended up playing with Jason Ward, Gomez (plays different style) and then rookie Dubinsky.

If Jagr's healthy next season, there's a good chance that no Ranger scores more points than he does (wherever he plays)... just like his three years in NY. He may have taken some games off while playing hurt during his last year in NY... but still led them to the playoffs for a third straight year and was their only threat in the playoffs.

BIG Jagr fan, but I'd be willing to make an avatar bet. Interested?

Sure, what avatar do you have in mind? If Rangers sign Parise, I would have to reconsider. Otherwise, just have to agree on a minimum number of NHL games (75 sounds good to me).

Why the hell would he ever go to the Islanders?

He wants to win. He will most likely go to the Flyers.

If they don't want him, potentially the Red Wings or Penguins, but he said no to both of these teams last season because they already have left wingers who run the right side of the PP where Jagr likes to camp out.

He wants to win so no chance he goes to the Isles.

O and the "not wanting Jagr around young talent" argument doesn't work anymore. Ask Claude Giroux how that worked out.

75% on the Pens board (with 111 voting) want no part of him at any price.

http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh....php?t=1208393

Mostly it is not sour grapes. If he brought more to the table I could care less about the past things. But he no longer does.

You can get 19 goals (half of which came in a couple of months at the start of the year) from a ton of players, who will cost you less, have more in the tank at the end of the year, and be less of a silly show. And for the amount he is going to want, $3.5 million or so per year, you can get it cheaper. So count the Pens out, let someone else have him.

Anyone saying the Penguins is insane. Not only have too many bridges been burnt, he's not a Shero player, he looked burnt out after last year and we will be spending money in better more important areas. There is no way in hell the Penguins sign him.

Did he really say that?

If that's important to him then it's another area that makes Boston a good fit. The B's are desperate for a left shot who can play on the right half-wall on their PP. They haven't had that since Savard left because all of the Bruins current skill guys are righty's.

He did. I think that was his most ridiculous reason for not going to Pitt last year, but he did mention that as a reason for signing in Philly.

Jagr doesn't want to play on the 3rd line.

The moodiness is why I don't think I really want him in Pittsburgh. There are enough guys wearing black and gold with spotty motivation and Jekyll/Hyde tendencies.

I know Jagr's agent and Paul Holmgren are still in talks. I feel like there is still a decent chance he stays in Philly but I could see Detroit and Boston as possibllities as well.

I think that Jagr ends up back in Philly---reason being: travel. Except for travel to Pittsburgh, all divisional travel is via train or bus.
