bradley is a quick hard working winger with a good shot that had decent numbers on a good midget team this year. Probably needs another year of Midget before making jump to either junior a or major junior.
Moncton takes... Ivan Barbashev #1 overall. Hes a Russian sniper and will be a 17- year old rookie next season. He outscored both MacKinnon and Drouin at the under-17 tournament...

Moncton needs to grab a second line center at 22.... They then would be able to challenge for the Memorial Cup. A guy like Tomas Hertl would be perfect..
Dmitri Jaskin... If he reports great pick by Flynn and co.
I second that. He must want to come over. He had a somewhat disappointing season from what I hear. Good choice for him if he wants to pursue an NHL career in STL.

Moncton would have a lethal top 6 if they acquire a good second line center. Maybe trade some of the D depth and Shea and get a guy...

Certainly rounds out our second line. Much needed offensive punch..Very happy with he draft. I was disappointed from the news of Nichuskin signing yesterday in the KHL, I truely believe he was Monctons #1 choice. I have a pretty good source on that..

Barbashev was a good choice to though.. They may have him longer too.

Most likely the case. We have about 10 solid Q dmen. I suspect there will be a couplemore trades made during the pre-season. Danny Flynn is going all in this year..
I heard Barbashev can play center too.. They then could for sure put Lalonde, Johnston, Penny, Pitre or whoever the hell they want with Barbashev and Jaskin/Veilleux. Another top6 forward would be great, but I personally think right now, Moncton needs a #1 Dman. They have a good 2-5 with Downe, Melindy, Racine and Emond but a lack of a true number one and that could cost them. The last (really probably 3) spot will be between 7-8 guys. Moncton fans should be excited to watch the battles in camp.

Barbashev has tweeted that hes playing for the Moncton Wildcats next season !!
Dimitri Jaskin also tweeted :Hes thought hard about it and figures the CHL is his best chance at accompishing his dream of playing in the NHL.
Nice to hear that both players are planning on coming next season...
Hiya mate!
What a turn of events!
I was so disapointed when Moncton didnt bag Zloben, then groaned when I saw the Nikushkin news yesterday, but realy pleased that they were able to get both Barbashev and Jaskin--- for my own sanity going to a team that broadcasts in English (so I can listen)
So, In a weird twist, the Wildcats got a pair of great Russian prospects afterall (I know, Jaskin in regarded as Czech)
What does the roster look like now then?
F Stephen Hrehoraik
Lw Alex Bradley
D Justin Lund
Jake Simpson
F Simon Tremblay
G Grady Grant
F David Stephens
Other Notables or Trade Bait:
Brandon Shea
Cameron MacDonald
Maxim Pitre
Jordan Labbe
Julien Belliveau
*2012 QMJHL Drafted players are NOT included because Flynn has stated it was a draft for the future. So they are not expected to make the team this season..

Brandon Shea to Saint John for Ryan Tesink seems like it could be a decent deal for both team. It would complete Moncton's top-6 and give them some Memorial Cup experience.
Kind of changing the topic here but what are everyone's thought on the new Ass. GM and Director of Scouting Roger Shannon?
I love this addition. For 1, it will certainly lighten the work load for Danny Flynn, that way he can conentrate more on the coaching end of things. No more needing to leave for weeks at a time during the regular season to go scout. Also, In Lewiston, under the command of Shannon, did a very solid job at drafting and developing players. He also brings lots of experience since hes been around for quite sometime in the area. IMO, hes one of the best scouts in the league and Im sure he has a ton of contacts..Overall very smart hockey person and has a proven record at predicting and drafting in this league..Excellent addition to the Wildcats organization.

If a trade isnt worked out , theres still a chance he shows up in Moncton for training camp. Theres some rumours floating that he and Moncton have smoothed things over a bit. Theres also an article where his father states that he sees Brandon playing in the Q next season and that Moncton was not ruled out. He also said out of all the negative rumours circulating, 90 percent were inaccurate.

That would be a great trade. A top 6 of Veilleux, the Saulniers, Jaskin, Barbashev and Tesink truly could reck havoc in the league.

Mark my words... But Samuel Roussy will not make the Wildcats next year. McGurty is questionable same with Wood. If there is something I have learned over the years at different training camps, (dont know what Flynn does), but if there are younger guys who are even close to the same level, they will take the younger guys. Right now I personnally see the defence as:
Downe-Melindy
Racine-Emond
Sweeney-Labbe
McGurty-Wood
Those last four spots could really go to any defenseman on their protected list. It really is about who performs best in camp. The top four is obviously set for now but you could ask various different people in the Q world and they would give you a different opinion on who will be in these bottom spots.

If you had said this in January or Feburay, I would hve agreed 100 percent. However, Roussy really found his game at the end of the year. If he starts the season the way he ended last year , he will have a spot. He scored 2 goals in 4 playoff games, which was more than he scored all season. He also played bigger minutes and played time on the powerplay obviously because the coaches saw his improvement and were comfortable with him out there. To me the fight for #6 dman will be between McGurty,Sweeney and Wood respectively. But as you stated, its all about who comes to camp hungry and wanting a spot more.. There will be a ton on competition for the D corps.
Are you still going to update your rosters and standings. Would really like to hear your thoughts and opinions. The euro draft obviously changes quite a bit, standings wise.. Thanks in advance..

I don't understand why you put racine as no.3 in moncton D, I saw moncton and shawinigan play and Racine is your no 2 for sure..... and we one of top 5 shutdown n the league. Moncton are messing a QB someone like gagné, narbonne, brisbois, carrier
