Leslie, any further comments you want to make regarding some of the guys yesterday? Anyone in particular look NHL ready?

I think we will know a little more by Friday. To be honest, no one looked NHL ready yesterday, but it was the first day the players were scrimmaging--so it does not mean much. I fel like it was more of an opportunity for the invitees to show that they have the tools to be noticed, than anything else.

Someone mentioned McIlrath's skating has improved leaps and bounds since his draft year. True?

Also, there was no word of St. Croix yesterday at all. Invisible?

I don't think McIlrath will make the team out of camp but I think its possible he see's a call up. Im hoping there is a chance this kid is ready? Ive been so busy I haven't had a chance to keep up.

second observation: Dylan McIlrath's skating has come a long way from his first #NYR camp in 2010...

I think it's ridiculously hard to tell if someone is NHL ready in a prospect development camp like this. Even if one guy was blowing everyone away, it doesn't mean he'd be able to to crack the NHL roster when push comes to shove in September

I just am asking whether there are players that look like others who have made the jump. Stepan, McDonagh, etc.

The hype is never ending.

Who looks NHL ready after one scrimmage against a bunch of kids ?

'Mcilrath's skating is LEAPS AND BOUNDS ....'

No, it was said that he's 'come a long way', there's a difference

BN what hype? I was asking a question to someone who has recently seen him in person? Is there something wrong with that?

I apologize for not remembering the exact quote from Jim Cerny. I didn't realize it was going to be a huge deal or else I would have done the 3 minutes of research required.

'Leaps and bounds' makes it sound different than just 'his skating has come a long way'.

And even if a player or two looks like Stepan did during his development camp, its still way too early to even allude to it.

Good to get the lowdown on their conditioning and effort though.

I agree, and I did not mean to start the hype train again on McIlrath. Just hoping for some news on the Rangers prospects and where they are and how far along they are.

Every player gets hyped up. That is pretty much the sole reason this site exists.

People only complain about it when they do not care for the player.

And then if they fail to make the NHL later, fans accuse the Rangers of over hyping a prospect and fail to remember that it was mainly the fans who hyped them up that much

I think there's a big difference between the hype and the legitimate discussions on how well or how bad or how mediocre a player has been playing. Charting a prospects progress is what the Pros do to.

I have no problem with the team hyping their players, that's their job. They're assets to the NYRs.

Yesterday 5 goals for one team were scored on the son of the Knick's GM. I have to think that's a favor to him, because I looked up his stats and he plays in the NAHL and they look brutal. Looking at the video, the goals looked weak too.

As per Gordie Clark, Jesper Fast not skating today "totally as precaution" after getting hit hard in nose during yesterday's #NYR scrimmage
