Stanley Cup Game Puck Recovered
http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-...53,full.column
Quote:
The puck was last spotted sliding across center ice at Staples Center while the Kings were in the corner celebrating their Game 6, clinching victory. A video shows the chunk of rubber then being casually flipped into the air and in the giant glove of the New Jersey Devils' Patrik Elias.
The puck has not been seen since.
Elias' agent says his client is on vacation and unreachable. The Devils say they don't know anything about anything. The NHL says it will launch an investigation only if the Kings request it.
This week, the increasingly frustrated Kings are going to request it.
"This is a big deal," said Luc Robitaille, the Kings' president of business operations. "We've got to get that puck back."

Us and ****ing controversy. Last summer Mulletgate, this summer Puckgate. Let's just ask Pronger. He's an expert on stealing pucks.

That's my favorite part. How can anyone in 2012 be unreachable? Is he on a walkabout in Australia?

I put a link up to Hammond's pictures of this on the main board in the SCF thread and a Nashville global mod closed the thread. Really?

lol.
I think having that puck is important to the franchise. The puck might not be as important if it wasn't the first time winning the Stanley Cup.

At this point, what's the use? Unless the puck is numbered and they know the number of the puck that was out there at the horn.....
So the Devils hand over a puck that says "GAME SIX" on it and say, "here ya go, this is it".....that'll satisfy everyone? Even if there's every chance in the world it's not the same puck?
Hell, I just bought an official Game 6 puck as a souvenir.....maybe it's THE ONE!!!

Exactly. And why didn't anyone ask the question as to why he picked it up to begin with? Go console your teammates, shake hands and GTFO the ice. Why it occurred to him to actually go and grab the puck if not to take it or give it to someone else, is beyond me. Tell the truth, at least.

I have to think he 1. took it out of spite or 2. took it for Brodeur if that was indeed his last game played.

Sure does seem strange, doesn't it?
Puck will never be found. It's probably been sold on e-Bay already.

If it was Marty that got it, hopefully the trail stops there. It'd be the one thing Broduer stopped in game 6...
Also, how is this thread not crawling with pics of Robitaille screaming "Give me back my puck!" into a phone at Lou?

According to NJ fans Elias is way too classy to just take the puck and then dispose of it.
Yeah, and Kovalchuk signing in NJ wasn't all about the $90M+ in 10 years.

Maybe Elias gave it to his buddy Sykora who is on his last legs.

My ass he doesn't know where it went. Enough of this petty crap. The NHL should fine players who do this kind of crap. First Pronger now Elias. This is an important puck for the history of the team, as it was to Chicago. They deserve it to have it.

Patrik Elias will return the Game 6 puck to the Kings. He apparently found it in his equipment bag after he returned from vacation.
