The Flames are also looking to fill those holes through trades. Feaster talked to several teams prior to and during the draft about potential deals and will continue to do so.
"I can tell you I left the draft and a half dozen teams we were talking to said, 'Hey, we're still interested in talking here even though the draft is over.'"
"We have our list finalized for July 1," he said on Monday. "We are going to be busy. We have what we believe are a number of holes and openings that we need to fill. We've identified the free agents that we want to go after."
The Flames are currently in the midst of contract talks with some of their pending UFA's and are "cautiously optimistic," they can get a deal done with Blake Comeau, an RFA who did not receive a qualifying offer on Monday from the club, before the end of the week.

There are several rumors surrounding collegiate defenceman Justin Schultz and the teams that are reportedly interested in signing the blueliner. Feaster touched on the subject on Monday.
"He's a player our guys are very well aware of," he acknowledged. "I know that sometimes people get concerned that maybe we haven't thought of this or we don't know who that player is. Trust me, we obviously know who is out there.
"We're following this very, very closely as are a lot of teams. I can't say any more than that."
I just don't want to hear about how hard the Flames went after Free Agents on July 1 and then they end up re-signing Stempniak. The Flames have started to sound like the Oilers recently with the whole 'we were in the running right until the end,' 'we were on the shortlist,' etc., etc.
And for the love of god stay away from Blake Comeau. All kinds of awful.

I have no problem hearing it, but it doesn't need to be repeated constantly. I like knowing what player's the team is pushing to land/sign. No problems with that imo.

#Flames have acquired the rights to pending UFA defenseman Dennis Wideman. That's confirmed. @fan960walker with first tip.

I'd love Comeau in a 4th line role with some time on the 3rd. He's certainly an upgrade on Jackman or TKo. He's speedy, physical and hard on the puck. Good penalty killer too. I think the problems come in if you expect 20 goals from him. I'd keep one of him or Moss. I think Moss is the better player, but Comeau stays healthy so I'd probably lean that direction.
We Need Peter Mueller, He would give us that young second line center of even right wing. If feaster could somehow make a deal with him i would love what he has done this off season. Add possibly Kubina and possibly Semin we could have ana a,amazing top 6 and top 4.
