-No Movement Clause
-Is under contract until age 42
-Is still owed $88M
-Devils forfeited two draft picks and money trying to sign him
-Happy in New Jersey
-New Jersey is happy to have him
-Just settled down and built a house in New Jersey
-Just had an very deep playoff run

He's literally the least likely player in the league to get traded.

Halak, Ryder, 2nd

He has always been a winger

I still like the "Flyers will sign Hedberg to a 6 million $ contract" rumour better

You're from a different country so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and consider that you likely read that the wrong way. The poster meant that Kovalchuk would be good on the Detroit Red Wings, the team.

I would be interested though what a realistic offer would be. He is an elite player, but his contract is a lot of cash.

His contract is very good for teams like Toronto or Montreal. I doubt they have what Devils need though...

Send a message via MSN to Kurrilino
i can tell you right now,
The last player Detroit is after would be Kovalchuck.

I can imagine Kovalchuk under this well rounded 2 way game and Babkock
His playoff appearance in playoff was stellar not to mention his defense work

everyone knows Kovalchuk is a defenceman, a norris-candidate early last season actually with his 33 minutes per game

This is one of the most ridiculous rumours ever. No one else would give Kovalchuk that deal, but now there are teams that want to trade for it? Not a chance.

I understand that dynamic happens all the time, but not for a contract where you pay a guy $11M for the next few seasons

Every-time people knock on Eklund. Why do people still read that page and post the "rumors" here?

For some teams it's more important his cap hit. And it's great...

Yep, having fun with 2 total series wins, and several times getting smashed in the playoffs?

And uhhhh no they didn't.

Can we all start to spam Eklund with ridiculous trade rumors? Maybe we can show him how dumb this is
