Florida as in the Panthers or just the state of Florida? I haven't followed lately with Luongo. I know the Bolts just got Lindback but you never know.

played pretty well for a freshman defenseman in Major college hockey this past season. Was one of a few bright spots on a otherwise down year.
I was hoping the Flyers would take a shot at him in a year or 2 but thats unlikely to happen now.

I agree that Stamkos is better. In fact, I don't even see how you can have an argument for Giroux. Stamkos absolutely destroyed him in goals and even beat him in points. Stamkos is two years younger yet he has three 45+ goal seasons, two 50+ goal seasons, a 60 goal season, and three of his four season are above PPG and above 90 points. Giroux, despite being two years older, only has one season of elite play where he even reached PPG and has never even scored 30 goals.
How is it even a question really?

I don't think Giroux is currently far behind either, however Stamkos has accomplished a lot more in terms of stats and NHL awards. He's also younger and despite that has managed to put up three very elite seasons compared to Giroux's one. They're also two polar opposite types of players so they would be hard to compare even if their stat records were similar.
If the Flyers have a deal in principle maybe not. If it's the hometown discount Homer is expecting, I wonder if Carle can change his mind. Calgary is insane!

God I hope Carle is gone. I do NOT want him for that kind of money. Wideman making that much coin is ridiculous.
