Wideman will get $5.5M. Carle will get big money. Suter will get a blank check. That is all of what's left in the free agent market. FLA offered $3M-$3.5M to Garrison. Carle wants to sign in the west. Colorado. Philly wants him back.
If Wideman got that money Suter should get the league max.
With Wideman getting so much money Suter is going to be getting a ridiculous deal once free agency hits. No goals 3 assists in 14 playoff games for Wideman this spring. I think he had inflated offensive stats this year because he got more power play time than usual with Green missing so much time.
I thought Wideman's worth was closer to 5.25 in 5 years than 5.25 per.

Whiner and dirty player huh? I guess you haven't seen real whiners and dirty players. He's a guy i'd love on this team. He does everything. Not one part of his game is better than the other. Very elevated and will provide some nice presence with such a young squad we got going. Definitely improves our offensive depth to decent extents as well.
I dig that top 9. Rangers don't necessarily need a sniper, they just need more goal support. In the playoffs it was pretty much a 1 line effort in goal scoring.

Dennis Wideman is not someone of worth, IMO. And I think this was going on before Jay Feaster, that team making bad management decisions. They should be rebuilding and restocing their destitute prospect pool, not signing role players to massive contracts.
He's a media sweetheart with a nice smile and the prototypical 'good ol' Canadian boy'. Very dirty.
I'm not arguing on the dirty part. He's a very dirty player. But whiner, not so much. He isn't dirty in the sense of sticking out a knee or kicking a guy. He's old school Messier Howe dirty. Thats an element that is missing from this team. Messier was one of the dirtiest players in the league. Do you not like Messier?
