If Wideman got that money Suter should get the league max.

It's funny. Wideman, Washington's 6th defenseman, is getting more than any of our D. Nice job, Feaster.

With Wideman getting so much money Suter is going to be getting a ridiculous deal once free agency hits. No goals 3 assists in 14 playoff games for Wideman this spring. I think he had inflated offensive stats this year because he got more power play time than usual with Green missing so much time.

Wideman was real good on my fantasy team, lol......with that said he should of got more like 4 million per.........5.25 is nuts especially for 5 yrs but the Flames always do this, never learn

Girardi and Staal will get 7 mil each their next contracts. Good bye and welcome Brady Skjei, Dylan McIlrath and Tim Erixon.

CBA will be different then, likely a lower cap hit than it is this summer, this their cap hits should be lower.

And if not, if the cap remains high, then increased cap hits for them won't be a big deal because there will be more cap room

Whitney and Jagr look better as place holder options with each passing day.

And the summer spending begins...and some people think Doan or Whitney will sign for one year and $3-$4MM.

At least Feaster's still not dumber than Scott Howson. Howson signed James Wisniewski to a 6 year $33MM contract last summer.

Right-handed shooting defensemen will always find someone to overpay them in this league.

Still praying for Doan. Doan is the best FA fit out there for short term option. Hes better then Jagr at this point in their careers.

He's also as hungry as they come for a Stanley Cup.

Would absolutely love Doan on this team. Love his play and his character.

Calgary continues to be managed by morons who have absolutely no idea what they're doing. It is really difficult to imagine how they continue to make blunder after blunder.

Whiner and dirty player huh? I guess you haven't seen real whiners and dirty players. He's a guy i'd love on this team. He does everything. Not one part of his game is better than the other. Very elevated and will provide some nice presence with such a young squad we got going. Definitely improves our offensive depth to decent extents as well.

Yup. I think he'd fit well on the opposite side of Cally.

Kreider-Richards-Gabs
Doan-Step/AA-Cally
Hagelin-Step/AA-Dubi

I dig that top 9. Rangers don't necessarily need a sniper, they just need more goal support. In the playoffs it was pretty much a 1 line effort in goal scoring.

Doan plays with his heart on his sleeve. I also always admired his loyalty towards Phoenix.

Are players flocking to Calgary? Seems like an organization that has to outbid to get someone of worth to commit to some time there.

Dennis Wideman is not someone of worth, IMO. And I think this was going on before Jay Feaster, that team making bad management decisions. They should be rebuilding and restocing their destitute prospect pool, not signing role players to massive contracts.

I'm not arguing on the dirty part. He's a very dirty player. But whiner, not so much. He isn't dirty in the sense of sticking out a knee or kicking a guy. He's old school Messier Howe dirty. Thats an element that is missing from this team. Messier was one of the dirtiest players in the league. Do you not like Messier?
