Trading Private (Bobby) Ryan? All Ryan Discussion Here. [Part IV]
The Penguins don't make good trading partners for the Ducks. Anaheim needs good, young forwards and the Pens have none to spare. Even if the Flyers don't part with Schenn or Couturier, they still have Voracek/Read and a defenseman to package.
Why would PIT offer Brandon Sutter when he was the key piece in trading Jordan Staal and he's slated to play a big role in their lineup. Sure, if the Pens were willing to make that "type" of offer the Ducks would certainly listen. But it would be more along the lines of Sutter, Despres and a 1st. I don't see the Ducks wanting Orpik.
First they were just listening to offers. Teams always try to get better. Now I think Bobby might be asking for a trade.
You "think" hes asking for a trade? You didn't hear about him saying "trade me" and "I hate going to the rink and when something goes wrong you always hear your name".
There is a good proposal. Realistic at least IMO. Would depend though on how much Voracek would want (his contract is up this summer yes?)
Voracek is probably going to get a deal in the 3 to 3.2 mil neighborhood. People say, "why Matt Read?" but he's a rookie who scored 24 goals in his first season and his cap hit is ONLY $800k for the next 3 seasons. That is incredible value for production.

He's DEMANDING one.
He said he doesn't care whether he is traded. That is hardly demanding one.
Typical HFBoards. I want X player, but I refuse to trade X, X, X, X, and X.
More like the Flyers just acquired Schenn's brother so he obviously isnt going to be traded....
If Ryan is coming to Philly, that will mean Murray softened on his stance and accepted a deal around Voracek/Read + Meszaros ++ for Ryan. Holmgren has already made it clear that none of the centers are being moved.
If Murray is not willing to soften on his stance, then Ryan wont be coming to Philly. It's really quite simple.
If the Flyers were willing to give up Couturier or Schenn for Ryan, then Ryan would already be a Flyer.
Really? Maybe the reason he's not a Flyer right now is that Cout or Schenn weren't offered before. And we're not talking straight up here. Murray would be forcibly removed from his office and thrown into the ocean if the deal was straight up.

I didn't pay attention to Voracek last season, but 3.2 seems really low. Especially considering what Wideman got.

It's not that he wants to be traded, he just wants to be valued by management and respected. If he has to go to another team for that, he's open to it.

Still can not be considered "demanding" a trade. Chris Pronger was demanding a trade back in EDM.

His exact quote was.......
Quote:
"I take things personally," Ryan said. "Anaheim to me has been a team over the past year that really has shown me nothing to prove that they want me here, unfortunately. Obviously, it's not the ideal situation. When you get drafted, you want to win championships with that team and every time they look to add a piece to the puzzle, I'm the piece going the other way. I gotta be honest with you. At this point, I don't care. Move me ... because it's just tough going to the rink every day knowing that if something goes wrong, you're going to be the guy moved."
You're right he didn't "demand" a trade but his feelings are certainly a lot more powerful than a shoulder shrug and an "I don't care if I'm traded". The Ducks don't need an unhappy camper hanging around. And where there's smoke, there's fire. If the Ducks put him out on the block at the deadline and again prior to the draft, chances are they have expressed legit thoughts in trading him. If the value is there, they would deal him.

I wouldn't be surprised if Voracek matches Ryan's point production next year and then starts outscoring him the year after that. Voracek really found his niche in Philly at the end of the year. I expect him to carry it over into next season. I wouldn't trade him for Ryan.
