rt is usually incorrect, rarely sober and shouldn't be taken seriously under any circumstances.
..... but that said Mueller is a living, breathing red flag. At the same time he is a potential steal for any team that bets on him and sees him become a healthy hockey player. Because he ain't short on talent, that's for sure.
You cant expect him to be available as a backup option in case you dont win the Parise/Suter sweepstakes. Budget/cap conscious teams are going to target Mueller as a #1 option for them so I bet he signs rather quickly. I'm pretty sure some team will sign him to a 2 yr deal around $2.5M per.
No way in hell Mueller goes for 1.5M. Stars will easily double that.
Players want to win a Cup. No chance of that in Dallas. Dallas sucks. In Pittsburgh he is on one of the top teams and will get a great chance to play in June and win it all. He takes less, wins a cup, gets good scoring numbers and on his next contract he will get more. He will go James Neal and be a good performer. He wont post numbers close to Neal, but he will have a much better season in the Burgh.

Im pretty sure a 24 yr old professional athlete with major injury problems(head) is thinking about his future($$$) as much as winning a cup at this point.

This has Fleischmann v.2.0 written all over it. Do it Tallon.
Mueller is never going to be the same player again even if he stays healthy. He NEVER goes into the corner first ever since the Blake hit. He'll forever be afraid of being hit, and that just won't work in hockey.

He is going to need a player that does that for him. To me the question becomes can he be transitioned back to center? It would be alot easier for him to let his wingers dig along the boards and in the corners if he plays pivot.

No, Mueller hasn't had a good season since his rookie year, and even then he was a softy with nearly half his points on the PP. Avs fans have been overrating Mueller since his trade by calling him a lock 60 point player. He is not only an injury risk, but a big risk that he can even perform at a top line level(assuming 100% health). Flash was a proven player where people thought he was hidden under all of Washington's talent long before the Avs trade.
If he could come cheap such as a 1 or 1.5 million deal than I see no reason to risk it. If the concussions are past him than he probably needs to take a paycut for a year to show he can still play.
I'd love for Dallas to tie up $3M + roster spot in Mueller preferably long-term.
Good point. This after we get Neal AND Niskanen for Goligoski which is an absolute joke.Amazing trade that we clearly won. Niskanen was just as good or better than Gogo this season. And we dont even need to talk about Neal.

Pens fan here. No way Niskanen is anywhere Goligoski. Sry dude but that's just crap..Goligoski can carry the pp better than Niskanen will ever be able to do that..plus he's a better skater, than Niskanen will ever be.
Jepp Niskanen may be better in certain areas, but overall he will most likley never be as valueble as Goli. On the other side, if you ask if people would rather have Nisk. at 2.5 or Goli at 4.6, that that's a totaly different story.

Obvuiously Gogo's better, but Niskanen is cheaper and good value and thats what i was trying to say.

His entire time with the Coyotes he NEVER went into the corners or anywhere along the boards with the notion of taking a hit to make a play. Always afraid of being hit. I have long argued most of his injuries could have been avoided if was more willing to take hits and understand how to take a hit.
He's a 225lb version of Robert Reichel.
Unless he changes, he won't last in the NHL even if he can avoid injuries. I'll be shocked if he's still playing in the NHL in 5 years.
His nickname should be Gucci or some other brand of a handbag.
