Good luck to Darche elsewhere.

Not exactly a major loss but he had his uses, hopefully they have a plan in place to give us a real 4th line. If he doesn't find a job I would like him in Hamilton.

Best of luck Darche. You were a true battler, but we need a warrior, not a scrapper.

He is a hard worker and decent 4th line guy. I liked him. I think a good chunk of the dislike for him was because he played on the 1st line and PP, which was stupid, and people hated it. Of course that was on the coaches, Darche shouldnt wear it for doing what he was told.

Remind me to not watch RDS the next few days while they mourn and freakout over this. Good luck Darchy.

Can't wait to hear Bergevin's reasoning, hopefully it's something like ''we want a tough 4th line and we do not see Mathieu playing in our top 9''.

Darche was a bright spot on what was a dark period for the Habs. Good luck to him. It's time to move on.

retirement ceremony broadcast on RDS ?

As i said earlier , if he's as good as some feel, he got nothing to worry about another team will pick him up .
I still think he needs to go try KHL and cash in a big retirement check .

I Dont get the darche hate. I loved darche just not the minutes he was playing over our youngsters. 20 mins a game ? Wtf ? Over Eller ?

He shouldn't play double digit numbers and hes more than okay with me.

How long until Raymond and Tremblay say that Bergevin is anti-franco for getting rid of Darche?

Let's wait and see who become the 4th line shall we....

Even the media understand Therrien is going for TOUGHNESS,no more fun park at Bell Centre.
Most french media was reporting this back first week of June ,that the 4th line(Noky Darche Blunden etc) was gone .

the darche hate stems from the coach hate, he was overused (he was dependable). I don't see any place for him on the team but I'm sad to see him leave the org.. young players could learn alot from him

I can say the same thing... I don't get the Darche love. I don't hate him, but I certainly don't like him either. He probably could be a good role model for young kids with work ethic problems, but besides that, his hockey skills are pretty low in terms of the NHL. I'm pretty happy with the decision, as I believe we certainly can and will get someone better to replace him.

Sad news. Darche is a great player & great guy. I hope he finds something in the NHL this year. If not I would love to keep him in the organization one way or the other.

I hope this means we have plans to upgrade the bottom 6.

He'd instantaneously double the IQ of the panel if he ever ends up on AC.

Not sure if he's gonna hang em up, but I'm sure he's gonna end up climbing the corporate hockey ladder, the guys a brainiac and loves the game.

Again, nothing, but respect for Darche, he was a serviceable player. But we need to build an identity as a whole; from 1st line centre to 13th forward. Darche was a tool player, he did nothing well, but nothing bad. We need players who are multi-dimentional and players who excel in one particular aspect of the game.
