[QUOTE=Patchey;50640155] You realize they are Muses favorite band/ one of their biggest influences, and the majority of their songs are heavily based on their music.

That's nice. They don't sound really similar at all to me.

I did, wasn't a fan of it really, say for a couple of songs.

bump:

rumor is that the first single is going to be released tomorrow around 730pm over radio1 over in England.

I have a feeling it might be something we haven't heard yet. It is suppose to coincide with the olympics.

Not sure what to think about what I just heard...but I'm still excited for a new Muse album. There will be at least 3 or so songs on the album that I will absolutely love, and it means there should be another big Muse tour. Anytime I get to see Muse live is a good time.

The last 10 seconds were good I guess.

I don't expect much at all from this album; hopefully there's just 1-2 songs I like.

I have ear cancer. Typical "marching" Muse song. God, I wish you divorce your wife so the quality comes back ...

Really strange, but there is something I can't put my finger on. While the lyrics aren't very good (too early to judge without hearing the rest of the album) there are touches that really remind me of classic Muse in there that are really nice.

I'm with this. The intro wasn't really necessary and the lyrics have gone to seeming bad to seeming like a joke, but it sounded alright.

Anyway, if it doesn't fall into the trap The Resistance did, ie start off with two decent songs then fall on its arse, then it should be good. I'm seeing them later in the year too, hopefully it's worth it.

The Resistance was really strong all the way through, only falters being Undisclosed Desires (even though I love that song for what it is, it didn't really fit in) Guiding light (bleh) and I Belong to You (Same deal with Undisclosed Desires).

I sort of went through phases listening to it. Uprising I didn't/still don't really like but I knew it was coming and its alright. Resistance is excellent. Undisclosed Desires is... hmm. Eurasia is... bleh. Then MK Ultra/Guiding Light/Unnatural Selection were all... meh. I Belong to You is dreadful. Then the Symphony at the end didn't really fit, even if it's good in its own right.

Still, if The 2nd Law is just one album in itself rather than a bunch of stuff thrown together it should be good.

I don't know what to say. It gets better as the song goes along but it doesn't mean much... I can't imagine athletes walking to the podium and get their medals on that song

Muse have always been up in my top 3, a sensational band and the best band in the UK by some distance. They have been going downhill a little though. The Resistance was different, but it was still good. It had a few extremely strong tracks on there and a few that were just fun. The final track (well, 3 tracks) were quite simply sublime.

This however... It's almost impossible to listen to it. I guess this was always going to happen, can't give Bellamy too much control...

Oh well, not long until Handwritten is out.

I don't get the hate for it, it's not bad. if anything it's a commercial song for the Olympics. The lyrics are comical I think, as if Bellamy was laughing and saying the most generic things he could think about. Overall I think it's a good muse song with some elements of the stripped down music they played in origin of symmetry. It's only 1 song as well. 1 song does not make an album.
