Habs offered a two way contract, Darche refused it.

Wish him all the best. Classy guy who did the best he could with the talent he had. Awesome guy.

I respect the man. Good luck to him.

But I'm really glad to read this. It means this team is going in a different direction and I like that.

Great team guy but it was time for him to go. Hope he gets a contract elsewhere.

A NEW GM, will clean the house the way he see fit, this is common .

Therrien don't want that AHL 4th line period end of story .

Let's wait to see the moves before predicting anything here.

He refused ? poor Darche. Except maybe Tampa, I can't see any team giving him a 1-way deal

your jumping the gun....

If there's a media fallout over Darche ,this world is goona end soon .

Let's wait and see in Sept what we got for a team .

Dudley did manage to get Ladd , Buff and a few more in Atl , so let's see what happens ok .

I got ton more confidence in these guy's(Bergevin /Dudley) at least contact wise ,than Gauthier .

Bergevin understands the franco aspect ...but he's smart enough not to just have a franco to just have a franco.

Best player avail(BPA), not best franco avail(BFA) , that was said not long ago.

hope he gets a sweet KHL contract.

He was put in situations where he wasn't ideal, but I think he did a good job within his means. I always liked him, although I think our fourth line was extremely weak last year, I think it was more a matter of not having a center or regular wingers who could enforce or even play that well.

I'll still remember watching him scoring in the game where we beat Toronto, and my Torontonian cousin turning to me and asking "Man, who the **** is Dartch?"

I'm not a big fan of Parenteau, but if we get him for the right price and term, I'm ready to give him a chance.

As for the other two, I think there are much better options in the market.

I'm french myself but I hate Darche. I guess he represented too much of the Jacques Martin era and I really couldn't stand his long, borng interviews where he would say the same thing over and over. And he was always the same player being interviewed. Bye Bye mediocrity.
I get it, Habs needs tough guys, but Darche wasn't here for his toughness, he was here for 2nd PK unit and defensive forward depth in case of injury. And since so many of our top 6 was hurt at some point, he was used with Plek and got PP time (wich is absolutely ridiculous, granted). But I stand by my statement, there was no better bandaid, and i'm still skeptical if we'll find a better replacement.

You win games with role players. Darche had a definite role. Let's see who they can sign to fill that role. Hopefully, we have a youngster ready to surprise us.

LoL. Darche is the number one trend on twitter in Montreal. The word Déçu (disappointed in french) is also trending

We can always get someone like Halpern. Not a big deal.

Can't wait to hear Bergevin's reasoning, hopefully it's something like ''we want a tough 4th line and we do not see Mathieu playing in our top 9''.
You can be sure to get a countdown of the remaining Québecois players on the roster. They will let you know.

Gentleman, start your PA Parenteau tour buses. The movement is starting.

How is the honeymoon going to end soon ? Because MB let go of Darche ?? Please

Honeymoon will eventually be over (just like with every other GM in the league at some point with a few exceptions) but not because of this. He made one questionnable move (Therien) but had a fantastic draft to compensate so all is well for now imho.

He's a brainiac that talks like a boring plummer. Never had any interesting insight. On a TV show he would be like the anti-Danny Dubé.
