Inconsistent =/= Laziness

Nobody on HFboards is in any position to call Semin "lazy". Some players are just inconsistent. It doesnt necessarily have to do with their work ethic.

For all I know, Semin could be one lazy sack of ****. I'm just saying you cant come to that conclusion by observing his play or based on rumors/hearsay.

Just saying.. Didn't a player come out last year and say he had all the talent in the world but he is lazy?

A former teammate called Semin lazy. Coupled with the effort and disinterest he shows on the ice for stretches, that is enough for me.

Yep. It caused some drama here in DC, led to a lot of criticism of Semin. One of his Russian media friends (his only media friend, apparently) called into a sports radio station here to try and defend him, but since he was completely honest about Semin instead of lying he made Semin look worse.

I would take Semin on this team before Radulov. if given the choice.

That's like choosing between eating poop and drinking bile, though.

Edit: alright, that's harsh I'd prefer Semin as well, assuming his cap hit is low.

dude really
I would rather chew on a rusty nail then sign Radulov. went thru that once with Zherdev. dont want to again.
Wouldnt shock me if Semin signed somewhere with a team needing to get to the cap floor giving him more then I would sign him for,

Would that be classified as a low Semin count?

Exactly. I don't want anything to do with players who won't bust their tails for the team. The endearing factor with Jagr was that he works out like a maniac and was/is a positive role model. Now is the time to reinforce a relentless work ethic across the roster.

I have swayed back and forth on Semin. In reviewing the numbers, if he's looking for anything north of 5-5.5M annually on a shorter term >4 years, I move on. He's just not worth a top-caliber investment for a guy with the type of baggage he brings.

The more I think about it, the more I want the Flyers to do something relatively simple like....

You can substitute Moen for Mueller, Langenbrunner, etc... or splurge a little there for a Penner (at 3.5 or lower)

Throw Hudler on that list! Am I the only guy around here that would love him on this team?

Isn't Huddler something of a diva?

If so, I'm not sure he's the best fit for third-line wing.

If Scott Parse is healthy, I'd love to see him here as a bottom-6 forward.

Interesting name on #Flyers prospect camp invite list - Trevor van Riemsdyk, younger brother of James van Riemsdyk

Doesn't impress me. Isn't that tough either. Plus I feel like I've seen the wings fans make fun of him a lot.

Santorelli (1.6, then RFA) is on waivers.

Might be a decent fourth-line pick-up. He had forty points two years ago.?

It's buyout period right now, that's possibly the reason.

Could be. The Panthers have Matt Bradley on unconditional waivers as well. A bit surprised by that really. He's lost a step or two the past few years, but he brings other parts to the game that should make him a pretty valuable 12/13th forward to a team with quite a few young guys on it.

St. Louis has re-signed Scott Nichol. Good for them, he's a nice charachter player and great in the faceoff circle.

More signings being taken care of today. Nikita Nikitin signed a 2-year contract with a 2.15m cap hit, pretty decent deal for the Blue Jackets imo, and Brian Lee got a new contract with Tampa (also a 2-year contract, cap hit of 1.15m).

Hal Gill re-signed with Nashville, $2 million per year for 2 years.
