(I have no idea who is LW vs RW and who is LD vs RD so for the most part, just ignore the sides. Centres are at their proper positions though). I am being overly optimistic with the development of our prospects, and i know there's almost 0 chance this many of them will make the big show, but let a guy dream eh?
Dumont*-Arnott*-Hörnqvist
Erat-Legwand-Jones
Spaling-Wilson-Pihlström
Tootoo-Geoffrion-Thuresson
Peverley, McKenzie (he may or may not be our enforcer)
Weber-Suter
Blum-Hamhuis
Josi-Laakso
Dietrich
Pickard
Dekanich
*Arnott and Dumont are the faces of the franchise and love it here in Nashville, so I suspect they sign new contracts to make themselves Predators for the remainder of their careers unless they're just desperate to win a Cup.
It's a pretty conservative projection, but the Predators have drafted well enough that they can build almost exclusively from within now, with an occasional free agent injection. I think that's the route they take.
This, of course, does not account for any players that will be drafted between now and 2013, so this is definitely subject to change.
Arnott and Dumont I would have said the same thing at the time, but its funny in hindsight.
I see Burke pressing extremely hard for Getzlaf and Perry, if they make it to FA. He's not been shy about the fact that he loves the team he established with the Anaheim Ducks (Carlyle, Lupul, Giguere, Gardiner, Brown, Deschamps, Schultz?). Whether or not he can pry one or both away remains to be seen however.
I like Steckel & Brown on the fourth line, but fourth liners don't stick with teams for very long so I'm not going to speculate on who will be playing there. Numerous prospects could be there in five years (Broll, Ross, et cetera).
The D is strange, the only real guarantee is Phaneuf. And maybe Gardiner and Rielly, but hard to tell. I don't think it'll actually turn out the way I have it listed, too much offence and not enough defence. But I can't really guess how it'll go with what we currently have.
Luongo will probably be in Toronto or Florida by the start of the season.

Biggest problem with this? Kessel forcing Perry to the RW. Dream big
My opinion on the Devils based on personell we currently have (Of course this will change if Parise does not re-sign as it will cause a cascade of other things):
Forwards
Parise-Zajac-Henrique
Kovalchuk-Josefson-Clarkson/Motteau/Gavrus(or a RW UFA the Devils sign at some point)
Tedenby-Wohlberg-Coleman
Hoeffel-Gionta-Johnson
Thomson/Zharkov
Defensemen
Larsson-Merrill
Greene-Fayne
Gelinas-Mcpherson
Helgeson/Burlon/Severson(at some point one of these guys will be traded. Urbom, Corrente will probably be gone already)
Goalies
Wedgewood
Kinkade
I get the feeling we'll have signed another goalie either from UFA or trade by then too.
I don't know really, but looking at how the Avalanche are drafting, there won't be a forward over 5'10", a defender more skilled than Shane O'Brien nor a competent goalie. Worst managed team in the NHL outside of Calgary.

Eberle RNH Yakupov
Hemsky Gagner Hall
Zharkov Pitlick Hartikainen
Jones Lander Hamilton/Moroz
Klefbom UFA
X Petry
N.Schultz Smid
Bunz/Roy
Dubnyk
X one of Musil, Marincin, Gernat or Laleggia. I will say Musil.
This may turn out to be a difficult team to keep together salary wise in 5 years. I am projecting MPS is traded for a defenseman and J.Schultz will hopefully replace the top pairing UFA signing.
At the very least, I am setting myself up for a good laugh in a couple years.
