Now I heard that they didn't get an agreement done. Donskois agent lowered his initial offer, but it was apparently still too much for the Panthers. They didn't want to pay him much more than the basic AHL salary.
So sadly he's now draft eligible again and re-enters the draft. I'm kind of dissapointed how this turned out, since that kind of money should be pretty small thing for a NHL team. Apparently not.

Trying to get some confirmation from the Panthers. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
So, what's the status of our prospects who were eligible to reenter the draft if not signed Friday? Was it more than just Donskoi, and did that ever happen?

Neither Donskoi nor Durocher were signed. They are no longer parts of the Panthers organization.

If Donskoi really wanted to come over, he should have been prepared to take less. Why would an NHL team make him potentially the highest paid player on the AHL team? It's about precedents. No prospect gets paid that much in the AHL. Why should he be special? I was hoping he'd sign, but it's not a big loss. He's not anything special.

Nothing new. I'm assuming at this point that he'll return for his junior year.

You missed a crucial point:

He wasn't coming over at any point, but Panthers weren't ready to pay him that kind of $ to play in the FEL.
Love the list of invites. They probably thought Houser and Makarov wouldn't be drafted, hope we can sign at least one of them. McFadden and Peters also seem interesting. McFadden had a good season last year and was the captain of Sudbury Wolves. Peters pretty solid numbers for a defenseman even on a powerhouse like Portland. Well done Tallon, Luci & co.

College? Just like Bjugstad couldn't attend last year?

I'm sure the reason Grimadi isnt there is because he's just trying to let the knee rest before his next season. I think that may be best for Rocco anyway just to rest and get the knee stronger so he can get off to a good start at UND.
Keep in mind, that all the college kids have to pay their own way to go to these camps so they may not always be able to attend because of the cost (NCAA rules). A junior player the Panthers can actually pay for them to attend.
Count me in as another that would like to sign Makarov, at the very least to increase our depth in goal.

Happy to see W. Megan on the list. Terrific player with speed and size. Also, notice Grimaldi and Brickley not on list. Both are in re-hab with injuries, I presume.

Knight isn't on the list either. I think like Coolburn said, it might have something to do with NCAA kids having to pay their own way.
