I don't see them getting him anyway with the young guys they have and Erixon or how ever you spell it, doesn't seem like a destination where he would play right away

The longer this goes on the less likely I think he'll sign with us, and I'm starting to think that might be a good thing even if he becomes as good as everything thinks he could be. It would lead to more issues in the future.

Schultz has always been a tremendous longshot. I've included him in no line-ups that I've done. We're a pretty good fit, but certainly not a whole lot better than a Vancouver is for a guy from that area.

Would love to add him. I would love to have Parise, Suter, Doan, or have drafted Koekkoek, Reinhart or Dumba as well, but you don't get everything you want sometimes.

McKenzie says it's between NYR, Tor, Ott, Van and Edm.

Justin Schultz lottery is fascinating, considering teams IN and teams OUT. Told Flyers are in the "OUT" line.

No Schultz?

Then I'm officially on the Carle boat. Lock up a stellar top 6, and look for some sandpaper come July 1st. Then get to work.

I assume you mean Carle @ $4.25, right? How high would you go with Carle before rolling with Mezsaros and MAB / Gus on the 3rd pair?

They do play a much better defensive game then us. That could be one of the reasons.

I go 4.75/yr for Carle before I throw him to the UFA wolves. I give Bourdon and Gus and even Manning a shot to be that 6th guy after that.

Tougher to hit offensive bonus numbers, kid needs to hit bonuses to get paid big dollars.

That's my number as well. I believe that we'd have the money to pay him more this year (5.5), but I don't want him at that hit for the next 4-5 years.

I'm glad Schultz ain't coming here. I'd rather stick with Gus and MAB, as others have suggested.

This is just silly. Gus and MAB don't have anywhere near the ceiling that Schultz has. He would be our best prospect immediately and make a big contribution to the team. Always try to improve your team, and he would have without giving up any assets.

It's just dog poop he doesn't want to play with us. Would have been nice to see him next to Kimmo. I just don't like the fact he is demanding a spot on the team.

People better not start sleeping on Manning again either. That kid can do it all. I like his potential to be a steady guy on the backend.

Yeah, I was quite impressed with Manning too, albeit in limited viewings. Definitely intrigued to see how he progresses next season. I think he's got the more potential than Gus and MAB, honestly.

Right, because 21 year old college defensemen have a great track record of going from the NCAA to NHL, and he's demanding top-4 icetime to boot. I'm sick of the Flyers manhandling their own defensive prospects and what would signing this ******** say to all the guys who have shown NHL potential while we already have 6 NHL defensemen signed + Carle.

Let's face it, nobody but Anaheim fans, Pierre McGuire, and HF prospect nerds knew who this guy was before he started this media spectacle. I find it hard to believe that this guys going to jump into the NHL and play consistently solid top-4 calibre defense.
