Oh I 100% agree... wasn't trying to make an argument against anything you said... just confirming it.

I got row 2's and am having a really hard time justifying $45/seat to move up 1 row and get a TV. (Or add $70/seat to move to center ice 1st row's)

Would anyone want to share row 1's if I took the plunge?

I'm definitely not arguing with you... I think we're both in agreement that they went about it the wrong way. Honestly it generally comes down to $$$$, and I think they were afraid that there might be a mass exodus of lower bowl subscribers...leaving them with a lot of overpriced seats to deal with.

But is it really that telling? Since the lower bowl subscribers can't see the inventory, it's only people in the $53/$59/$73/$79 price points that would be able to take them. And considering that most of those subscribers are already paying more than they would like...I can see why they would not be running to have their tickets jacked up even more. $5,000/ticket is a lot of money for most people.

I could be wrong, but I do think there will be a reasonably strong demand for the Row 1 seats going forward. If you were looking to buy a nice pair via resale would you rather go for the last 5 rows of the 100s or sit in row 1 of the upper bowl? The latter is nicer and cheaper.

Actually the demand is bifurcated, all the most expensive $150 row 1s and $90 row 2s are gone in the center 10 sections, but available in pretty much all the corner and goal sections which are cheaper at $125 (row 1). All row 2s are gone around the bowl (these are $79 in the corners & goal). The market has spoken and there is a definite premium demand for center, but not for the ends & corners

Agreed. If those front row seats were $100 instead of $125, I dont think I'd be able to resist them... but an additional $46 to move one row up... I just can't do it. I'm sticking with my row 2 seats.

I'm hoping those seats dont sell well and they drop the price for next season (but I wont hold my breath on that).

I'm having a hard time believing all row 1 centers are gone. I would much rather sit in let's say 214 row 1 than say 212 or 213 for 25 dollars more a ticket.

Makes sense to have a cutoff point at this stage. Next up will be assigning people who have declined their relocation assignments and are still seatless followed by people adding seats to their accounts if they choose to (up to a maximum of 6 per account). THEN comes new business on the waiting list. If anything is left after that, seasons would be open to any walk up business.

After all that, it would be cool if you could move around your seats again up until the ticket printing deadline. But if there's nothing to choose from then there's not really much point. Knicks will be doing this whole process too after the Rangers are done

This was the final availability at 11:59 am:

Downgrades are allowed if you ask. You cannot downgrade through the online tool, you have to speak to someone directly. The Rangers are wrong for not making this information readily known -- but I know a handful of people (myself included) who asked to downgrade and got it. (You still had to wait for your tenure to be called, though).

I am hoping a single seat at the 8th ave side in row one lasts until the new sub selection occurs whenever that is. Price might be out of wack compared to row 2 but mucher better than lower bowl

In my experience, most people who only go to a game once a year or so would rather sit in the worst lower level seats than the best upper level seats, all things being equal. It always annoyed me that high row endzone lowers would sell for more than low row 50-yard line uppers for the jets.

The thing is all things aren't equal. The Row 1 upper bowl seats will have better sight lines, more legroom, ledge for holding food/drink and a personal TV...all for less than the inferior seats a few rows below. Whether the average person looking to buy a pair of tickets will be aware of this is a different story.

I am happy as i now got 2 seats in section 226 and they are side by side in the same row! I was originally located to section 215 rows 4 and 6 smh. My rep called me back today after calling last week and offering me piggybacks again ( i was pretty ticked off, they knew it was unacceptable). So now I am happy as I got what I want even though I couldn't get moved to a lower price point. How did everybody else make out with there upgrades and secondary locations?

It my be more prevalent in football but many people think that being in the upper level is too high too see anything and wll take a crapy lower over a good upper.

BTW my computer is still in the upgrade tool (or did it reopen) and I see 3 seats in 213 right i front of mine (why couldnt it be 4 seats). There's also 8 seats in 209 and 2 seats in 226. The seats in 226 are row 12 seats 12-13 ... are those yours?

No I am 226 row 13 seats 17-18. I jumped pretty much at the first thing she said as i had piggybacks last year and just wanted them in the same row this year. I wonder if that pair is available and a little bit better wise. You can still use the upgrade tool?

My rep called me 2 hours before my upgrade time and gave me 2 more seats (3 total). Moved from 227 to 213 Row 11. I didn't even have to use the tool.
