Looks like Wild and Avs fans should get some drinks together while we both mourn the losses of a couple skilled but frequently injured guys our GMs didn't retain.
He'll probably get ~3mil for 2 years on the market.

They offered him a 1-yr deal for less than the $2.5 million (not sure how much) he would have gotten had he received a qualifying offer, with bonuses that would have brought the total $$ earned up to the $2.5 million if he stayed healthy this season.

Would easily offer 2.5-3 on a 2 yr deal. Would love to see him along side Malkin or Crosby...

If the Pens strike out with Parise and Doan he would be my #3 winger to go after if he was 100% healthy. Very good player when he actually plays.

really hope the jets take a run at this guy. Him or Mueller would be a very welcome addition.

I very want Latendresse on the Leafs. Perfect fit, big power forward with skills and a very good wrister.

I'm somewhat interested in a return to Montreal although we do already have Bourque who seems similar. So that's why the somewhat interested.
He wouldn't be my first call on UFA day... maybe 6th or so.

Lats is more talented and motivated than Bourque, when used right.
I want him.

Pretty sure he chooses Montreal now that a new management is in place (if he actually gets an offer).
He was a star here and will still be a star if he comes back. That means a lot of money from sponsorship and publicities. Plus, his girlfriend is having a singing career in Quebec, so she can't follow him outside of the province.
Basically, it's up to Bergevin.

Fletcher shows he has no ability to put together an NHL team as he lets the best scorer on the team walk over a few hundred thousand.
ON THE LOWEST SCORING NHL TEAM IN TEN YEARS.
I'm guessing he gets two years at $2.5-3m per.

I'd take him back on the Habs. I always felt he was misused here. If we stop trying to turn him into a bruising power forward and just let him do his thing, he could be a good value pick up.

My guess
...after the Sens trade Foligno (in a package), they'll sign Latendresse

Why are they for sure trading Foligno, and to who?

He can join the Flames with a similar deal that Blake Comeau just signed - I would be fine with that! Stick those 2 guys with Stajan on the 3rd line and that should hopefully lead to a gritty line with some scoring potential.

Agreed - as long as the price is right (say between $2M-$2.75M)
And, TO is just a short trip down the 401 from MON

I wouldn't characterize 6 hours as short. I know, I make the trip once a month.
And you know whats closer than Toronto to Montreal? Montreal.

I'd hate to see him in a Leafs uniform.
It's really up to Bergevin at the end of the day as Tender's GF's singing career is in QC.
So 2.5 M for 1 year? Sounds fair to me.

If his desire is to be close to home to Montreal, his options are rather limited. Guess he could go to Ottawa.
