I full list hasnt been posted yet and probably wont till a few days (or day) before camp starts.
I wonder if he is this years "guy we were thinking about drafting." Unlike last years guy he should actually be signable though if he impresses. Right? Right?

Yes there is a period within the summer to sign undrafted players from the CHL.

The biggest problem with Rinaldo is that he's a marked man. He gets every little call made against him, even if he is keeping it within the rules.

You can't have a guy prone to 'profile' calls in a series against Crosby.

He's more than earned his reputation in his professional career.

yep, his reputation from the minors and juniors followed him. It sucks but he pretty much ruined his nhl career before it began. I like him but we can't have a guy who gets called for hitting too hard every other game. it sucks but he's earned the rep.

I emailed my old R.A who watches a ton of the Q about Clapperton to see if he knew anything on him and got back this reply:

"Tiny, fast, good hands. great junior player but would have a tough time against men. Can't see making the NHL but I suppose you never know. If Theo and St.Louis did I guess CC could too but he gets pushed around a lot more than those guys do/did. Still awfully young I guess but would need to really work on strength. His numbers are boosted by being on good team."

I dont dispute how he earned the rep...but he really hasnt played dirty in the NHL.

Im not even a rinaldo fan, and since the refs won't let him play (even clean) i dont see why we should keep him.

As a big Rinaldo fan, I think it sucks humongous much that the refs are treating him differently from other players. And I want to keep him anyway. And as you say, he hasn't been that dirty in the NHL, just very tough and physical. Sure he's done som dirty things too (slew foot against the Devils for an example). But all in all he's getting treated wrong.

Wow, that makes you realize just how amazing last year's camp "roster" was. The trial this year will pale in comparison.

Any interesting players on the list? Except for the ones drafted by the Flyers like Cousins, Laughton etc.

Hmm well points wise I guess Nick Sorkin. That being said, I hope that Greg Coburn is good, just because I want to see a Coburn-Coburn preseason action . I think the one that will impress the most will be Ghost, but he is going back to college anyway.

He got screwed. His brother is 6'5. He's 6'0.

Invited is Ian Slater, Western Michigan Sr. Captain. Signed an AHL contract with Phantoms

http://www.mlive.com/broncos/index.s...yer_ian_s.html

Quote:
The former Western Michigan University senior hockey forward signed a deal with the Adirondack Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers.

The announcement was made during Saturday evening's WMU hockey banquet.

----

Slater said the contract is directly with Adirondack and it is not an NHL entry level deal with the Flyers. He will join Adirondack when the team's rookie camp begins next season.

The Broncos' 5-foot-11, 192-pound two-time captain finished his career at WMU with 46 career points (23 goals, 23 assists).

He doesn't have the most scoring talent in the game, but Slater brings to the table leadership and a work ethic that helped Western Michigan win the Central Collegiate Hockey Association tournament championship this past season.

Haha, this team is turning into a mafia. You only get in if your family with an other player.

I could very well be mistaken. I just thought I had remembered someone making some sort of a crack about him having a "fyten chance of getting a contract"

I was curious to see if Justin Hamonic was Travis Hamonic's brother, but according to a post on hockeyfights Travis only has one brother named Jesse, but as the poster said they could still be related. Justin was also invited to the Leafs Camp as well http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh....php?t=1218941 .

I remember it too. It was the main training camp he attended last year, not rookie camp. He hurt his knee in preseason.

http://www.broadstreethockey.com/pag...te-roster-cuts

http://blogs.theprovince.com/2012/01...year-old-spot/

Quote:
Fyten blew out a knee crashing into the net during a Sept. 8 Lethbridge exhibition in Taber, Alta., reportedly had surgery and never played a regular season game with the Hurricanes. They let the 6-foot-2, 200 pounder go at the WHL trade deadline on Tuesday, and Vancouver picked up his rights. Hes slated to come to town early next week to meet with Giants doctors, who will assess what rehab it may take for him to return this season.
