As far as you can predict for a kid that age. It's also about the mental part and the luck of avoiding injuries the next 2-3 years, when he is developing.
His CHL import draft (26'th) was higher than Girgensons last year (45'th)! It doesn't say a lot, but it's not negative at least!

So it looks like in a latvia vs denmark comparision considering drafts
2012-Latvia wins 2 high picks,2013-Denmark wins hands down with Oliver Bjokrstrand,2014 look pretty even, but latvia might get the edge with Bukarts, so yeah it looks pretty interesting.

Actually for 2012....i was hoping that Spelling (1993) just would be drafted, since he was a overager that missed it last year, where Nicklas Jensen took the headlines as 29'th. 1994 was a weak danish year, while 1995 is strong, so 2013 should look good. 1989 class is still probably the best ever so far.

Yeah Nikolaj Ehlers might also go very high in 2014.....but then the knowlegde of 1996 players and younger are fairly limited.
Rødovre should have a 1998 player called Nikolaj Krag-Kristensen that apparently as U10 (when he was 8) scored 137 points in 2007. But i dont really know how he has been playing these last couple of years.
(the numbers of Nichlas, Nicklas, Nicolai, Nicolaj, Nikolai, Nikolaj players lately is making all this very confusing......come on danish parents show some originality ).

Yeah hes alright, i also might add that if young Haralds Egle continues to progress and will play in ushl,i could very well see him in 1-2 rounds.
By the looks of it for both latvia and denmark its like this - 1 awesome year, one average/bad,1 awesome year,1 average/bad

yeah for Denmark we have a very weird thing. Even years are crap (like 1994)...odd years are super (like especially 1989 and 1995) and it has been like that for years and years. We can have a single good player even years, but when we get "bulks" of good players it's always odd years!

With around 2500 registred players of all sexes and ages...not really
(1989 class if you wonder gave Denmark Lars Eller, Mikkel Bødker and Philip Larsen -> 3 NHL player in 1 year!)

Hey i was wrong......we have actually 4.405 right now, where 4009 are men and 396 women.
2.471 under 19.
519 between 19-24
1.415 over 24.

So we are equally strong with numbers and rinks. Like the numbers of under 19 players!!!

That would explain the similiar behaviour considering draft.

Yeah...so it will be a good measurent of the youth programs the next couple of years. Since it will bounce up and down you can't take single years in account...but if we work with 5-year plans we might get an indication!

I have the feeling will be pretty even throughout the years some years better for Latvia some for Denmark and so on.

Overall it has been fairly constant for Denmark since Frans Nielsen broke the ice in 2002 when it comes to drafts.....
Latvia seems to come out bouncing back these years after a waiting period (gap 2007-2009 with no drafts). So something must have changed for the better.....had at least one every year from 1997-2006. Funny enough another gap was 1994-1996, then the glorious 1989-1993 with true star players.

The fact that now we have place for young guys to play (mhl and mhl-b) and undoubtabley the incluence of khl has also helped, just as denmark is getting better because of sweden and SEL.

With KHL alone (Dinamo Riga) there is no real influx opportunities for the young players so having the MHL is probably the cause as you say! But as we discussed some players from Latvia now also go young to Sweden. Any that goes to Finland?? A few Danish players are starting to do that now.

Yeah he has managed to secure a spot in SM-liiga, but he first left after teenage years. So no U18 players from Latvia in Finland yet....
