Regardless if you think Hall is the best player on the team, he is the most passionate about the game and winning. He's also a really personable kid. (He and Yak are gonna be great!) That's one reason why Taylor is probably there today. Compared to RNH who is kinda quiet.

So Vancouver 1, Edmonton 2 today..
I would have taken Hall, RNH, and Eberle.

Also the new building may be a factor. I'd be pumped to play with a young group like Edmonton knowing there is a fancy new barn that's going to be built.

Rogers arena opened in 1995.

Financially, Edmonton is probably the best option.

However, Ottawa and Vancouver are better teams right now. The Oilers will have to sell something, one of those things might be a UFA move or trade to bolster the roster a bit. A better goaltending outlook would really help. Not sure how that gets fixed though.
I think there are other teams' that have better tax situations than Edmonton, but may not be in the running. I just hope we get him, but I am not going to think about it constantly like some people here.

Not sure why he would want to play in Toronto. It's the media centre of the world. He would be behind Phaneuf, Gardiner, Rielly, and maybe even behind a couple other guys.

Katz should just say that they can use his jet anytime they want and give them season tickets, although that's probably circumventing the cap.

In a lot of ways, any Canadian team could be considered high profile. I think you're confusing high profile with big market.

Interesting, so they left Steve back in Edmonton? Is he working on other things or is this a sign of things to come?

I think NYR could be the team to beat in the Schultz sweepstakes. He can play with his good buddy Ryan McDonagh; challenge for the cup right away, travel schedule is the best in the NHL and it's the probably the most desired place to live in North America.

Isn't it quite possible that they will be staying till July 1 and Steve needs to be here to sign other free agents?

I'd say this about the whole situation. The team isn't going to say much if anything until Schultz makes his decision. So the first person that asks why the team isn't saying anything, bend down and run as hard as you can into a wall.

Maybe, we can't put all of our eggs into the Schultz basket. That said I'm sure that business could be done on the road as well if need be.

I think it's actually a good sign that Lowe didn't say anything about how the meetings went.

I am sure that is why most of us had Vancouver as his destination but by the same token, if Vancouver was a slam dunk why is he meeting with 5 teams?

I thought they lived in Kelowna?

That's a really long drive to see the Canucks play 41 times a year.

Well he did run away from them to Wisconsin for 3 years so I guess maybe that's a good sign for us
