Yes but not the five teams that were shortlisted. I am going to guess we will hear nothing from those teams until a decision is made.

I wonder if they were asked as such by Schultz's people?

Looks like the meeting between Schultz and the Oilers has happened

Per Twitter - @NHL_Oilers:
Quote:
An #Oilers delegation including forward Taylor Hall met with free agent defenceman Justin Schultz and his agent in Toronto today
Quote:
"Hopefully (Schultz) feels he wants to join something that could soon be very special in the years to come." – #Oilers Kevin Lowe

I would guess but I am only speculating of course. Though Bob Mckenzie did tweet about a "cone of silence" yesterday so it was more of an educated guess.

He didn't meet any one else yet right?
So he chose to meet with oilers first
Is that a good thing or a bad thing…

It's not bluffing if you dont actually know what's going on (unless Kevin tells you something).

Good because we're the first team he has contact with and may stick in his mind.
Bad because anyone after can ask what we told him and match or beat our promises.
Although Vancouver making any promises of playing time over the Oilers is a complete lie.

The Oilers should've put Schultz on the phone with Hodgson

By leading off with "hopefully" he is telling you that he has nothing to back it up.

And "could" doesn't say much either.

Just wandered over to the Canucks board to read their Schultz thread... now I remember why I hate Canuck fans so much.

I'm sure Gillis would put Schultz on the phone with Pronger, Souray, Marchant, Chimera, Cleary, Heatley, Nylander. I'm sure there are a dozen or so more that could be added too.

What did Clearly have against us? He had plenty of opportunity here.

The rest of them are all old farts, or bums. They all had plenty of minutes here... I think a young Hodgson not getting an opportunity (limited minutes) in Van is more damning to a young Schultz than all of your list.

Ohh good point so he'll likely love to hear the story of having to pay back his bonuses if he wants to be traded?

No they prefer the Linden's and Brad May's.

They're on the decline while we're just getting started. I'd be jealous too if I were them.

Ah, Gillis was the agent during that fiasco...yeah, i don't think he wants to go anywhere near Nylander these days.

Comrie, not Cleary

And that was as much to do with the agent putting together a trade for the team as it was the money.

Of course, the Agent's trade was better than the one Lowe put together, but I'm sure Lowe felt better about stiffing Winter regardless.

Every time I make the mistake of wandering over to their board I end up doing one of these:

One day I hope to stand over the corpse of that team and smile.
