Kind of a stupid article? It's an entirely pointless article that literally adds nothing to the discussion at all. Just like my sarcasm.

They might have had a chance had BB10 launched on 10/10/10.

Hey guys. Just got the curve 9360, and I'm brand new to BB. Already love it, have all my stuff set up and it works great. Just wondering if there's anything that I need to know, certain things that I should download or whatever.

If RIM's stock continues to drop, I might be able to buy the company one of these days.

Amazing stuff by a dev:

Developer gets iOS apps running on BlackBerry, for real (we asked for more evidence and got it)

This past Saturday a thread popped up in the CrackBerry Forums by new member businesscat2000, titled iOS Apps running on PlayBook! The thread linked to this video on youtube, which runs through a demo of iOS apps running on the BlackBerry PlayBook via an iOS player of sorts, including Super Monkey Ball, Tiny Tower, Tom Tom, Sushi Cat, iFart (of course) and more. This video also linked to another youtube video, showing the iOS Player running in a Windows environment.

Nope but they are looking at splinting the company in two units. This of course makes it easier to sell the handset unit if they are not happy with what happens with BB10 sales come this fall. I don't think anything will happen before.

I am getting a little worried about the lack of news and development. I am getting bored with my 9780!

if BB does go belly up, what will happen to the current users? Is it the cell phone providers that maintain the servers or is it all BB?

RIM won't go belly up. It'll split into two companies first between the handset division and the software and services division. The latter is profitable, the prior is not. The service side of the company would continue to support the phones in use.

App support would only worsen though.

RIM going down...

http://news.yahoo.com/blackberry-mak...--finance.html

Quote:
TORONTO (Reuters) - Research In Motion Ltd delayed the make-or-break launch of its next-generation BlackBerry phones until next year, in a devastating setback to the once-dominant technology company whose sales are crumbling.
Shares in the company, which also announced a steeper-than-expected quarterly operating loss, plunged 18 percent after it said it would release its revamped BlackBerry 10 devices early in 2013, instead of late this year, because the development had "proven to be more time consuming than anticipated."
The delay in releasing the devices - RIM's last best hope of stemming its eclipse at the hands of Apple Inc.'s iPhone and Google's Android phones - confirmed the worst fears of analysts and investors.
Combined with the size of the loss, its first for eight years, and the likelihood that sales keep sliding into 2013, it narrows the window through which RIM must climb if it is to survive as an independent entity.
RIM's announcement that it would slash 5,000 jobs, or 30 percent of its workforce, only reinforced the impression of a company that could be in terminal decline.
"It's like watching a puppy die. It's terrible," said Matthew Thornton, an analyst at Avian Securities in Boston.
"Wow, what a disaster," said Edward Snyder, managing director of Charter Equity Research in San Francisco, who said RIM was now in "a handset death spiral."
